[BOOT]animation by chkmate...the beginning!!!

Ok. So I make new folders droid and spin, split up my files the way I want.

Change my desc to:
480 320 (still waiting on FPS)

p 1 0 droid
s (if I want one)

P 0 0 spin


Then zip it up. Copy and replace,Right? Also I don't need a logo file ssince I am currently using a zipfile for my logo custom made by nattybee I think.

Well if your wanting something to loop at the end I wouldn't put any more than 40 images in your second folder/part1 folder. I've had up to 180-200 images in my first folder/ part0 before. But your frames per second should be set from 8-20fps. You'll have to try it, if it runs laggy or too quick you will have to adjust.

And if you only have one folder that will loop you wont need the p 0 1 part, you just need p 0 0 which is looping the images. The 0 1 in the first part means it runs one time and 0 0 means it cycles over and over.

Yes the DarkSlide boot animation breaks down how it works. But if you want to compare and see it written out with just the code download one of mine and unzip it.

that's how I figured this much out was by dissecting yours. Will 25 fps be too much. Good heads up on this. So only p 0 0 for looping folder. So it would look like this


480 320 25
p 0 0 (foldername)

Well I had to have both p 1 0 and p 0 0 parts. Otherwise only played loop. Still working on the sound bit. It says to put
s filename.ogg
I converted my sound to an .ogg file and placed in /system/media but then you get no animation. So I am still playing with the sound part. I think I might have to rename the .ogg to part0. Like I said I am still messing with it.

Made an attempt at combining SPUN and Linux into a little remix... But only got a black screen to come out of it so far. Been playing for hrs and not quite sure what I gotta do. Going to sleep on it and play with it some more Friday when I dont have to work.

Hmm. I think I need to change my desc but not sure. I unzipped, removed unwanted frames. renamed frames to be moved from one to the other and then moved them. removed part 1 with blue eye and replaced with red eye part 1. then zipped using 7zip. but its smaller than either of the originals with 200 extra images. It may be just too big or I may have screwed up somewhere.

I am too tired to think anymore lol.

this is what my desc looks like

480 845 210
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1

i didnt modify it at all when i unzipped the original zip for the SPUN2 bootani. from what i am reading i think that at present its trying to say 210 fps. maybe if i just drop that 0. but the zip size still doesnt make sense to me being smaller than the original with much added frames.

Are both animation imagesets the same size and FPS rate? Try making an all new folder with your part1 and your part0 and your desc. Make new part 0, 1 and a new desc. Not copied. Copy and paste your images in their respective folders, write a new desc.txt file and save in your new folder. Zip the 3 items, rename bootanimation and try that one. Make sure all the images are equal though and you have correct FPS. I had similar issues and had to revert back to original bootanimation to get any kind of animation and start over making another new zip file.

Nicely done GetSome. What is the distorted sound while it's still on the eye loading. Before the Droid Sound. Is that just background noise or somehting else. nice ani though, moves nice
