Bug Fixes and a Little More What Else Could You Ask For- Sapphire 0.6.2

i dunno i haven't asked.. but i know they were trying... it may be released later tongiht much like last night.

Just wanted to drop a quick note. Been using this ROM for about a day and I am thrilled with the stability and reliablity of it. I like to mess with my phone, but I still need to rely on it, to KNOW that it will work all the time every time - and this ROM is the first Froyo ROM that delivers that (for me). I know, 1 day ain't much to go on, but all the others crapped out on me by now, but Saphire hasn't chocked yet! Nice work!

Take care,
Rob

So are the kernel modules like compcache installed by default or do they require you to install the new p3droid kernel? When I type compcache start in terminal emulator it says "compcache not found" Is there something else I need to do first to enable the module? Thanks!

the modules are installed by default but if you notice in the changelog i mention that compcache is not supported at the moment. there are some tricks required to get it working.

p3 and i are working on getting it set up and put into the next release.

For what it's worth, I never saw any performance improvement using compcache when I was running eclair, but YMMV.

Just wanted to say Thanks guys this rom is my favorite froyo rom so far. only problem is when I click on all applications in the market only Top Free and Just In pops up. Top Paid does not pop up, Doesn't bother me that much because you can just search for what every app you need. Great job guys and I look forward to seeing what you guys have instore for us.

Ok, thanks for the info. Sorry I didn't notice it in the changelog. Keep up the good work guys.

I'm not going to read this entire thread, but this may have been talked about. I am having issues with the market. I can't get apps to install. It downloads them fine but i always get an installation failed error. I'm using .6.2 with drop theme.

May want to format /system, /data, and /cache in recovery and do a fresh install...

The rom doesn't appear to come with google maps installed and when I try to download it from the market I get an installation unsuccessful error. Is this a known issue in the rom or should I try wiping data and cache to get google maps to install from the market?

-------------
EDIT
I got the new maps to install. To do so I installed a Maps.apk that I had saved on my sdcard (4.2 I think) to system with terminal emulator then I followed the instructions in this thread:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/53663-google-maps-4-3-fix-droid-froyo-users.html

Hopefully this well help out anyone else who is looking to get the latest maps up and running from the market. The original problem may have been due to something left over in my data from my last froyo rom which had maps installed to system. I didn't do a data wipe when I moved to sapphire so maybe that caused the issues.
