Bug Fixes and a Little More What Else Could You Ask For- Sapphire 0.6.2

Man I go out to fix some fence line come in for lunch dancedroid downloading now.

redflea you have more issues :p j/k j/k

we haven't had any issues, between cvp and myself if there is somethgn we can do to help we will :)

I know...my Droid is a problem child, but 6.0 was running so great on it I made the fatal mistake of believing things would be OK from now on! :) My bad...

I tried rebooting about five times, no go getting it up and stable, finally booted recovery and wiped system and cache three times each (superstitious) and re-installed 6.2.

Seemed to be OK, but then screen blanked and non-responsive again. :(

It just did a spontaneous reboot, which oddly enough for me can be a good sign...sometimes it's only after it reboots on its own that it settles down.

I'll futz w/it a bit more, and may have to try wiping data as well.

I am curious about the kernel switch...if I continue to have stability problems any reason I shouldn't restore the kernel from 6.0? That one seemed to work well from me, first 1.0Ghz I've been able to run reliably on Froyo. What kernel was it?

Tried with Chev's ULV 1.0 Kernel and got a boot loop - never had a problem with that kernel before, but no biggie. I will move on to another one. Will be trying Chev's LV 1.0 next (I like the battery life I get from LV kernels).

Take care,
Rob

Quick question: has anyone tried to use Metamorph to theme on these Froyo builds? Have there been significant changes to framework-res, or could I apply an old MM theme? I'm not looking for much, just want to make the notification bar black and change some status PNGs.

grrr... forgot to post the rest of my message - is there a LV kernel that is recommended for CVPCS' ROM?

Take care,
Rob

Ok, tried Chevy's ULV and LV 1ghz kernels and got boot loops. Is there a lower voltage 1ghz kernel that anyone would recommend with this ROM?

Take care,
Rob

Luna is compiling now while CVP is away at lunch...

redflea, try the old kernel, it may work...

other than that glad everyone is enjoying the release!!!

Will MetaMorph work with this release? I guess the easiest way would be for me to try as I want to get 928Droid's theme back and he's got a MM version. Of course if I had ever used MM I'd be even more comfy.

Thank goodness for nandroid backups.

I haven't tried any at the moment. But you have Rom Manager, there are a few other people who make kernels you can try. I personally am going to get one of bekit's in a few minutes so I can load it on tonight. I want to see how it will run with the stock kernel first. Usually I run a SV/MV kernel.

P3Droids 1.2GHZ LV is the only 1.2ghz lv kernel ever to be perfect for me. First kernel of his I've used to and I've only used it with Sapphire 0.6.0. Gonna try it now with 0.6.2!

I recommend P3Droids kernels though!
Both 125mhz and 250mhz 7slot 1ghz+ have been great on froyo for me!

there have been changes to framework so any metamorph theme that modifies framework will either error out or cause bootloops...

as to the question about the framework changes, the answer is yes, that is where the reboot and reboot recovery option are.
