Well, wow. I'm not sure what the new kernel did but.... man, it adds 150-200 to my quadrant score. A more real life measure is that its really freakin' fast. I know the vast majority of the speed bump is Froyo and not Sapphire in particular... but I have never been happier with my phone as I am today running Sapphire 0.6.2.

It reminds me a little of the early days of Linux. Linux just SMOKED Win 3.1 and Win 95 on the same hardware. And multitasked long before Windows could claim to do the same. Unlike the early days of Linux, though, we has sexy apps to run on our mean little computers.

(Come to think of it... the Droid has better specs than the machines I was running Linux on back then. I think I'll go double check for gray hairs...)
