Call Quality? Report, if you please.

I've read a couple of early reviews on the geek sites that suggest that call quality may be an issue. Could you lucky ducks with an Incredible in-hand already please let us know about what you are getting, from both ends of conversation? Let's take an informal poll as the phones get out there...

I'll be curious to hear, also. I've actually read the opposite of you, that the call quality was actually very good.

Doesn't matter, who's getting this for the phone? Let's be honest, we're getting this to screw around on the net. :D

I read a casual mention elsewhere first (can't find that one) and then I read this more detailed critique:

HTC Droid Incredible Review - Call Quality, Battery Life, Verdict

And, for me, call quality is very important too. I only carry one device usually. And I need a good cell phone, especially when I'm out of town. But yes, the bells and whistles are really what matters or I'd still have my old dumb flip phone! :)

I know, I was joking about the call quality part. I'm on my cell 99% of the time compared to my house phone. If I run across any reviews, I'll post them up. Figure we should have at least one person that has his chiming in soon, hopefully.

Keep in mind, call quality may be subjective based on the location of the reviewer to an extent, also. Where they might have marginal call quality due to reception issues, you could have great quality where you are with a strong signal. So unfortunately one of the best ways to know is to actually try it in your area.

Hey Sal -

No matter what you're going to get mixed opinions on certain things. I guarantee you'll find some people who claim they get great call quality and some will say it sucks. Same as you will have people say the battery is great and others will say it's horrible.

It's the nature of the Forum boards beast. And remember, for every good remark you see you'll see 10 bad ones. Unhappy people post more then happy ones.

True. Good point. My Droid is sooo reliable. Trying to talk myself out of the upgrade somehow!;)

True. But that LapTop Mag review (link above) had authority, I thought. Over the next week or two, I'd love to get a general sense of what my DroidForum buddies think, especially now that I'm a SENIOR (as of today)! I really trust the regulars here...

Just read the review. Going to be hard to say. It would have been nice for them to have given a location and conditions. Beyond that, could have been a glitch with the phone they were using in itself. For subjective things like that I usually just judge for myself.

I will agree. I also believe every device has a mind of their own as well, so opinions will vary in that instance too.

according to that link call quality is a disaster, yet they say it's the best android phone? how does that work?

maybe it depends on the network strength at a particular time...but my Incredible is more clearer than my moto droid. I used to get disconnected at home (weak signal), but I have yet to drop a call.

again....battery....it's lot better than rooted moto droid.

I am glad they are saying the battery strong, but then I read other reports of it being weaker in the Nexus 1

not sure what to believe

Again, its reviews. They are subjective and variable by areas. I would take them with a grain of salt this early on.

A little QUICK REVIEW..

okay guys.. I just got it today.. The call quality.. is just like the droid.. the sound on the speaker is just like the droid, yes, i said it, just as loud as the droid.. :icon_ banana: this thing is like a Droid but souped the hell up by HTC.. It amazing.. The sound on a call as usual sounds like a house phone.. I love that part.. On speaker the sound is clear.. Very clear, no screeches or blips.. it stays constant.. it has that bass feel the droid has, get me..

umm.. the screen is much more responsive than the droid or the N1 rather.. it has the new capacitors and the screen is more crisp and clean.. 720 out is amazing.. well it is 720 in a blu-ray world.. but fear not in my youtube vid i posted links and etc.. We're almost there, thanks, again, HTC!

K, Music is loud and vibrant like the droid.. Movies crisp and clean.. I promise.. I wish you could see it in person, cameras NEVER do justice.. ever!..

It is designed like the droid so when you place it on it's back the indentation of the speaker sort of makes it louder.. Well.. thats a quick note on what we all want out this badboy.. I hope and wish you all to enjoy when you get it..
