Call Quality? Report, if you please.

Just read the review. Going to be hard to say. It would have been nice for them to have given a location and conditions. Beyond that, could have been a glitch with the phone they were using in itself. For subjective things like that I usually just judge for myself.

I will agree. I also believe every device has a mind of their own as well, so opinions will vary in that instance too.

okay guys.. I just got it today.. The call quality.. is just like the droid.. the sound on the speaker is just like the droid, yes, i said it, just as loud as the droid.. :icon_ banana: this thing is like a Droid but souped the hell up by HTC.. It amazing.. The sound on a call as usual sounds like a house phone.. I love that part.. On speaker the sound is clear.. Very clear, no screeches or blips.. it stays constant.. it has that bass feel the droid has, get me..

umm.. the screen is much more responsive than the droid or the N1 rather.. it has the new capacitors and the screen is more crisp and clean.. 720 out is amazing.. well it is 720 in a blu-ray world.. but fear not in my youtube vid i posted links and etc.. We're almost there, thanks, again, HTC!

K, Music is loud and vibrant like the droid.. Movies crisp and clean.. I promise.. I wish you could see it in person, cameras NEVER do justice.. ever!..

It is designed like the droid so when you place it on it's back the indentation of the speaker sort of makes it louder.. Well.. thats a quick note on what we all want out this badboy.. I hope and wish you all to enjoy when you get it..

All of them are praising the bells and whistles and screen of the phone...but.. a few have mentioned that the reception is bad,check out droiddog.com for one,there's a few others. I live in a marginal area so someone living in a city or near a tower's report doesnt help at all.I've so been looking forward to getting this,tried the Droid but I don't text much and it was bulky.Also since u can tether this I'd replace my horrible sat connection with it..anyone in a marginal area who got an early one having a problem????

K, I want to assist you on that.. I have not noticed any issues.. I live in the Tri-State area of Jersey.. So of course, my signals are bananas :icon_ banana: I do see that HTC in general seems to be having some sort of a communication issue with there voice on modem.. ya know.. The data of course on BIG RED is much like the HSPDA from Europe if you will.. So that's working fine there.. Call quality, as usual like a house phone.. No dropped calls as of yet.. And no hick ups on signal strength either, as expected for our Nazi :icon_evil: friends over at big red, who always seem to forget to send the damn bill.. LoL..

I did travel to PA for a few and still i was doing well, I guess since I dint travel too far.. I am glad i am helping you all decide, not decide, conclude any of your decisions.. Thats what i meant to do with it since I have it a week in advance.. Let others know as I know.. it helps.. Sometimes i wish I had it for me on some other devices, like the Pre, LoL, my wife dumped.. LoL.. Now she has a rooted droid, running, Koush 5.0.6 series and NexTheme.. With goodies.. LoL..

I am hoping that I can figure it or just keep on track to the rooting of this thing.. Cause I sure as hell would be a guinea for this.. Cause really, the droid was cake, and this is an HTC.. So I put out a call to the devs now.. Ideas? Guidance? Please.. Thanks.. :icon_ banana:

Not to burst your bubble on Incredible video out, but it does not output to 720p. The output is similar to the N900 and is composite video out- not hidef. Only Android device with 720p out is the EVO.

I get my Incredible on Thursday. My main concern is the reports that Droid has about two bars better signal in weaker areas. I will test a Droid and Inc out this weekend. The winner stays and the loser returns. Reception in weak areas (I live in Kentucky) is more important than a little better specs.

Sorry, call reception is great, it sounds like a house-phone, like a droid.. Ya know.... Everything is almost just like the droid..

Looked good isn't just the word.. Guys when this thing comes out many are going to be surprised.. This thing is jam packed with nice things.. Like I stated.. The Video graphics.. absurd.. the recording.. and camera absolutely astounding..

The call quality nice and clean.. The sound on the speaker.. Like the droid.
The touch sensors much more receptive cleaner, and "infinite".. The glitches I haven't seen.. At all..

Well.. more to discuss..

My call quality on the Incredible is nowhere near the droid and i have a good signal. It sounds like hint of a robot. Almost like the speaker is pushing itself too hard to deliver the sound. Is there a way to fix this or no?

I find call quality is very good,not an issue at all from hearing on my end to what friends have said hearing me on it..speakerphone isnt the best but regular call quality is great.. the battery is something else however....

My opinion is that the call quality is equal to or slightly greater than the droid. The big difference i noticed is that on the Droid i almost had to smash the phone into my ear on certain calls to be able to hear. normally, this was when speaking to a person that was not a very loud talker. My first call yesterday on the Incredible cleared that issue right up. I found myself for the first time in months turning the volume down!

I think the whole verdict on the signal bar is still out. I haven't seen over two bars of strength yet. Most of the time it sits at one bar. So, last night i flipped my wife's droid and the incredible into the signal screen. I walked around the entire house including basement. Numerically, they were spot on or not very much difference (.03-.08) At one point when they had identical strength at 80db i looked at the bars. The droid was pegged. The incredible showed 1 bar!!!

So, in all fairness, there might be a bug where the signal bar isn't reporting correctly?

Until I drop a call or notice poor call quality in an area that I know I normally have coverage in then I will just try not to put a whole lot of faith in the signal bar....

On another note.... my wife held the incredible and for the weight of it alone she wants to swap(phones that is!) Being the good husband I told her I probably would, but to give me a week...
