You should be able to disable the sound with Camera Zoom FX. There is an app called SilentSnap, but that seems to go with the stock camera. Have you tried to put the camera into silent mode prior to taking the picture?
"Camera Phone Predator Alert Act - Requires any mobile phone containing a digital camera to sound a tone whenever a photograph is taken with the camera's phone. Prohibits such a phone from being equipped with a means of disabling or silencing the tone. Treats the requirement as a consumer product safety standard and requires enforcement by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)."

Just started taking a hard look at CZFX as I'm frustrated with the Bionic's camera. CZFX's site says "on some devices – the operating system has enforced that sound will play whenever a picture is taken." But, you CAN turn off the shutter sound on the STOCK camera app.
It's so odd that the stock camera app can be silenced, but not CZFX. Or, am I missing something?
I think this problem involves Motorola drivers. Every Motorola phone I've used with that app, that setting has not worked. Even if the phone has the option already.
