Where you know my car from?
This was the love of my life. Sold her a couple of years ago to start my business. I miss her.
2001 Superformance MKIII (not a kit, fully built by the only authorized by Shelby manufacturer). 1969 351 Windsor engine (old motor to comply with CA smog emissions). About 420 HP and the car weighed about 2,600 lbs.

I have lost count of how many vehicles I've been through, but among them is:
1968, 72, 73 Dodge Charger
1967 custom Chevy stepside
1976 Jeep CJ-5
1986 Chevy K-5 Blazer
2001 Z-71 ext. cab leather/loaded
1985 Chevy S-10 w/350 V-8

Wow. I've learned a lot from browsing through this thread, namely:
1. The Droidforums community has a lot more money laying around than other forums I visit
2. The Droidforums community has good taste in cars - I didn't see a mustang until halfway through.
I currently have a Nissan 200 as my daily driver:
aaaand a Supra for my weekend car. Not a real Supra, just one of those old mkIII Supras
Before that, I had another mkIII. Alas, it was hit by a truck and totaled.

Yea, 1jz with a single turbo. In the process of saving up for a clutch rebuild kit so I can get on the way with a trans swap, then hopefully working my way through the motor starting with cams and better fuel management. Unfortunately I'm jobless right now due to classes so the build is long in the making.

I used to own a MK iii supra. Got rid of it at the beginning of the year though because I got tired of owning such a heavy slow pig that didnt really handle all that well. Traded it straight across for my current car 91 Mazda Miata with a hardtop. Probably the most fun car I have owned. Within the next few months i will be swapping a fresh engine into it along with the Jackson Racing supercharger. And IF i can get ahold of one at a reasonable price the 6 speed gearbox and differential out of a 99-2005 miata. But unfortunately before I can get started on that I need to buy another daily to get me too and from work. Thinking about an EF civic hatch, Mazda Mx-3, 1st gen Ford Probe turbo, or possibly a Nissan 200sx(because thats my girl's daily and they get amazing mileage and are kinda fun to drive too and not horribly bad to look at)
In all seriousness though, you're comparing apples to hammers. The Supra is a Grand Touring car, the Miata is a roadster. Stock for stock, the Miata is a better handling car, but it sure as hell isn't faster than a Turbo Supra, so if your Miata is faster it means one of only a few things: 1, your Supra was NA. 2, your Supra was beat to ****. 3, your Miata "feels" faster (much the same as driving a motorcycle down the road at 45 mph feels faster than driving a civic down the road at 60).

You know, the only people that compare the miata to being a gay car are people that have never driven one. I've taken my car to track events and posted better times that a stock Evo, never managed that with a piece of **** like a Mk 3. Just sayin.

Your generalization fails. I've driven one, I know several people that own one and all of them call it the gayest car they've ever driven (save maybe a rav4). That doesn't prevent them from driving it, or enjoying it, it's simply a joke.
Good for you. If you had bothered to read my post, you would have seen that I actually gave Miatas credit. However, it would appear you lack the ability to read after pictures.
You may not have managed to take yours, but I bet I can find several people that have successfully enjoyed their Supras on track days.
