Coming Soon to a Droid near you!

Was anyone truly afraid that the Droid wouldn't get the 2.1 upgrade? Was all the doom and gloom present because everyone thought Google would just forget about the Droid now that the Nexus One is being sold? That mindset seemed weird to me. You better believe that Motorola and Verizon want the Droid to receive every single update that its hardware can handle.

I know Google wants to sell their phone, but I would imagine that they also want to support the growth of their OS no matter what particular phone it is on.

"Since yesterday wasn't such a good day to be a Droid owner, today is shaping up totally different! What do you guys think?"

Thank you for sharing the information. I love my Droid as it is now and now I look forward to loving it even more.

I think the reason some Droid owners were feeling pessimistic was because of how the Motorola rep reacted when he was asked about 2.1 on the Droid at yesterday's Google event. It is nice to hear that 2.1 is a sure thing for the Droid now.

I'm so looking forward to the update, especially the flash part. It'll open up a new world for us

The flash will be nice. Personally I'm more interested in Landscape support/functionality for the Home screen. I really do not understand why this isn't/wasn't implemented to begin with. The base coding is obviously there (since it functions when the keyboard is open and programs like Home++ can access it) so wtf did Google and/or Moto not activate it for the Home screen.

I thought yesterday was a perfectly find day to be a Driod owner, Eris owner, iphone owner dumbphone owner or whatever owner. Heck I am just glad to be alive another day!

THis significantly makes me happy. Both these features plus anything else that gets rolled out for Droid will keep me with MOtorola :).

I'm actually glad they didn't. I have PandaHome and turned that functionality off. It drove me nuts having my home screen flipping all over the place.

I'm assuming thats why they did that.
