COMPCACHE for UD *2.5.0*!! [Instructions] Updated 12/16/10

well thanks blackdroid and UD2.3 i followed the instructons and compcache is running good. but i have a question. after i installed it i went to the setting and turned it on. then i went into terminal and typed su then i typed compcache stats and it said it isnt a type writer? so i then typed compcache start and i got a line of code? then asi was about to retype compcache stats the phone rebooted automaticaly. then after if came back and the sd card was read it rebooted again with out me doing anything then once again same thing reboot? is this normal? but after the third auto reboot its running great. compcache is running i see it in setcpu and my phone booted up and its running cool and clean.

so my question is this what gives why did it reboot three times automatically? im seriouse it just rebooted i was kinda freaked about it.

I'm running the 250-1250 kernel and rarely see temps over 40 in temp monitor. Quadrant consistently in mid 1500s. Good battery life as well, had better life with the 125-1250 kernel but couldn't keep launcher pro from force closing when coming out of sleep.

Do these instructions apply to all Roms that have compcache like CM6.1? Or is it different for each Rom?

Yeah, I can't get compcache working with 2.4.

I'm just going to go back to using a Chevy kernel for now. Will I need to uninstall compcache somehow, or is just disabling it in the Performance menu good enough?

Ditto. Worked perfect on previous versions, not 2.4 though.

Typing SU, Compcache Start, only gets me an error and automatic reboot.

yeah, i get that too (minus the reboot), but when i go to check if its on, its actually working. so you get the fail to start message, but it actually did start. you lose it after reboot though and its a pain to keep resetting after every reboot.

are you guys reflashing your kernel and the .zip after updating to 2.4? i haven't updated to 2.4 yet, just wanted to figure out a game plan for when i do try it.

you have to do "compcache start" first. it will give you an error but do the "compcache stats" after and it will give you the statistics
