Complete Droid X .sbf Flashing Guide

I am trying to get my Droid X back to factory as I need to rerturn it to Verizon, they have already sent me a replacement.
I have:
Bootloader 30.03
I am trying to sbf:
VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf
I am getting this error message:
Failed flashing process. Unable to retreive initialization values from INI file. (0x7079); phone connected

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

wrong .sbf for the 30.03 bootloader. You want 2.3.15 (2.2). Filename you're probably looking for is "the_gift2". (Pretty sure it's available on rootzwiki).

Still no go.

Downgraded top RSD Lite 4.7, loader runs now...but

Get to 100%, then...

Failed flashing process. Phone is not compatible with multi-interface super-file. (0x703b); phone connected

When you tried 4.8, you didn't try to patch the .ini file with the 4.7 patch, did you? That would cause that error.

4.7 DOES need the .ini patch, but I wouldn't use it with any .sbf older than 2.3.15. :S

Remove RSD COMPLETELY (make sure the dir is gone from program files directory), then reinstall 4.8 or 4.9, and don't patch it, and give it another go.. it should work. :S

madershramm, would it be helpful to write a quick tutorial about running a Linux live CD (your choice of distro) and include instructions for the technically-challenged about installing sbf_flash on said distro?

Go me. Read more, post less. :)

Lemme go take a peek...

Only suggestion I'd make is that you stress in the OP that if anyone has the slightest issue with RSD Lite that they invest in a CDR and burn some bandwidth. :D

good idea - due to the absolute craptastic nature of rsdlite I'll post in the OP to please attempt using sbf flash before posting for help as it resolves 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999% percent of issues
