Complete Jellybean Tethering and Troubleshooting Thread

Confirmed. Foxfi works now.

Coupla questions for the smart guys:

Now, in foxfi, the Verizon tether icon comes onto the status bar as well. Any ideas why that is?

Also, I guess Foxfi MAKES you password encrypt your phone. Why would they make you do that and how the hell do you disable the password lock?

Thanks all.

Go to this Website Aptoide Installer
Download aptoide it's a free mobile android app.
Download aptoide repos from the aptoide store.
After that download sulfite editor.* It has to be that version.
After that go into sqleditor lite wait for it to load.
Go down to the hammer and wrench under...
Com. Motorola. Android. Providers. Settings
Hit settings.Db
Settings
Go to line 79
Under entitlement check change 1 to 0 under "value"
Reboot and your done.
Now you get the real tether experience without downloading wireless tether for root users.
You won't even get that warning about 30 dollars.

I'm having a problem following the above guidance. Any help would be appreciated. First, when I open SQlight editor, I have an option of selecting (open from phone) or (recent list). When I "open from phone", I'm faced with another menu stating: Complete action using - and have 4 file managers to choose from. If I choose "File Manager" I end up at /Storgae/sdcard0.. Where do i go from here?

I got it. Some versions won't play right. This is what u do so u can use any WiFi hotspot app.
first download aptoide...can't go into detail here.
get the SQL editor lite version 2.0.1.
download it.
go to com.motorola.android.providers.settings look for a wrench
click it
go to line 79 i think.
look for entitlements, set 1 to 0
reboot then try it. Report back if you have a issue.
hit the like I button if i helped you.
enjoy!!!
I just wanted to say, that this worked perfectly for me. A newer version of SQL editor did not work. Version 2.0.1 worked magnificently.
I found the entitlement check on line 66 on my phone. Stock 4.1.2 OS.
Tested and working with no other changes on the stock Mobile Hotspot app.
