Contacts question

I recently purchased a Rezound and after adding all of the contacts in I noticed that I only am notified of who is contacting me if the area code is included in the persons contact. For instance:
Phone Call from Karen 315-747-3999

or
Phone Call from Unknown Caller315-756-7345
The latter comes up as unknown even though the person is in my contact list, just without the area code, which is the same one as the phone

Is there any way for me to avoid having to sift through all my contacts to sort out which ones need the area code placed in front of the number as that could be tedious?

You can export your contacts in gmail(on a PC) and edit them in Excel as a CSV then re-import them back into Gmail. Probably the easiest and sanest way to do it.
