You must understand that VZW has 3 potentially massive releases between August and September before they have to get ready for the holidays. Obviously it will release in Sept. but the iPhone 5 will also presumably drop in the same month so Moto must combat that somehow. Not to mention VZs marketing team will need time to make commercials, ads, and things like that. I say early to mid September with the iPhone 5 on the tail end. And just like the Droid 3, it will be available under Direct Fulfill a week before its release. Take it or leave it.

Sept. 1 is another speculated day I know. But it has to get released between the first 3 weeks of Sept. to keep the promise of being release in the summer.

Well the droid will wait till the last min. just the nature of this phone. But I will be hoping for the first of Sept. and if there is a prerelease then that will be Aug 25th all a guess I don't know anything

I know we keep hearing Sept. 1st, but Verizon releases phones on Thursdays. And sometimes allows preorders on the previous Thursday. So that makes me question this date. Maybe the Sam's Club flyer and stuff just meant they are receiving shipments on Sept 1st?

IIRC the sams club document didnt say anything about september 1st. nobody has said september 1st. september 1st is just another speculated date based off of nothing other than the fact that the moto ceo said "in september". so since no specific date was given, september 1st is just another aug 4th to me.

There is some merit to the September 1st date. That's the date kellex from droid-life has been saying for awhile. Love or hate him, he usually gets it right.
