Thanks for the reply, as a member of the news team that seems like a good idea, but as some know, I've been very ill the last year and am now back on track in a sense. Your right, I didnt read the 1st post, I just wanted to get out what I was thinking before I forgot it ... lol meds do that..

I updated my last post with a little more info. I meant the 1st post in the thread that I linked to, the OP, JAVA, has been updating it, so no need to read the entire thread, unless you want to.

Thanks for the kind words, yea being sick isnt something to brag about, and read thru the thread and got Preach on twitter now too since you two seem to have the heads up on the bionic. Just the whole delay period is what bothers me, more or less, WHY the delay? Im picturing a phone that they are trying to make perfect and cant. Im probably wrong, but I guess none of us will know until someone gets their hands on one, keeping fingers crossed.... cause I really hate this droid 2, mostly because it beeps twice every 20 seconds on some calls. They want to send me a replacement, but the idea of getting a refurbished droid 2 does'nt entice me that much..lol

Yeah, I was getting really sick of my OG Droid but I just flashed 2.3.5 Gingerbread and it is really running smooth again, so I can survive the wait until September.

About the delay:

I believe the thread I linked to has a bit of the history of the Bionic, but the short version is:

The original Bionic (xt865? code name ETNA) was scrapped due to problems Motorola was having.

Motorola was already working on a successor to Bionic(Bionic 2?, Bionic pro?) Motorola codename TARGA xt875) They decided to put their efforts into that phone and Verizon decided to call that "The Bionic"(Bionic is a trademark, for mobile a communications device, of cellco partnership(Verizon)

The TARGA was always slated for release in Q3. So, there actually has not been delays in production of this version of the Bionic. It is due out on schedule.

So, while we have all had to wait longer than we would have liked to get a dual-core LTE phone from Motorola, we are getting a phone that is better than the original planned Bionic and it has not run into any design or production problems or delays that anyone is aware of.

Hopefully the Bionic xt875 will be a great phone and live up to the standards set by the OG Droid!

You know, you really just put my mind at ease. That makes sense, like I said, I have'nt been able to follow all the rumors but your explanation cleared a lot of my concerns and am now really looking forward for its release. Hopefully Sept 1... Thanks!

I'm guessing they named it the bionic because "droid lockness monster" was too long... and actually seen lol

for everyday that passes there's talks about another great phone and if they just released this thing it would be one of the biggest followings.... but I like most i am tired of the wait and if something better than the tbolt comes out before the bionic I'm all over it and won't think twice about the bionic

The Charge is a good phone. I don't see why people keep knocking it or thinking that all 4G phones are horrible and have horrible battery life when the only phone they have in mind is the Thunderbolt.

The only reason I don't have a Charge is because I've been waiting for the dual core Bionic since we first heard the names Olympus and Etna.

I think if you're going to wait for the Bionic, then wait but if you're going to complain about ___ or ___ then just go somewhere else. Sure you can compare it to the GSII but in the end, one has LTE and the other doesn't. So can all the haters, trolls, GSII fanboys please leave the Bionic forum and go somewhere else. The people that are looking forward to the Bionic or at least somewhat interested in it don't want to see all the negativity.

I am fan of both, they both look great. I hope they release close to one another so I can try them both out and make my decision from there.

I have a Charge. It's unbearably slow, my Droid X1 ran laps around this thing. Battery is terrible too, not as bad as TB, but still quite wretched. I'm considering just dusting my DX off till the Bionic releases and selling this on eBay.

Do yourself a favor, wait for the Bionic.

thanks for the input I love hearing reviews from people that actually own the phone.... I wouldn't get a charge or tbolt from what I've read.... so far its shown that being first w lte isn't the best... I'm hoping the next wave of phones are smoother w better batt life.... btw idk how ppl compare 3g and 4g phones.... 4g is such a huge advantage especially since I'm already in a 4g zone and if your not yet... u sure will be anyday now

You don't know that the GSII won't be 4g LTE, as they've already released info that they're adding a physical keyboard to it on one carrier.

I'm sure if they're willing to completely add something like that to the phone they could make it a little wider to incorporate a 4G LTE radio.

Last I checked everyone has a right to be on a forum who abides by it's rules.

That is not true about the physical keyboard on one of the other carriers. They retracted that.. No on the LTE thing. If it comes out between now and September it will not have an LTE radio. The radio is to big for the GS2. If they put one in they will not have the slimmest phone as they said the GS2 is because the form would change and will be as thick as the other phones. 2nd gen LTE radio will be in next years line of phones. The earliest will be in December of this year. So those of you that want the GS2 with LTE be prepared to wait.. But from all I heard from contacts is it will be 3G.
