Countdown Clock to The September 1st Release Date!!

No, the Verizon definitely had a Bionic press release page after CES. It was for media outlets and was part of the PR department. It also had a small picture of the front of the Etna.

It may not have been a sign up page, but the Etna Bionic was on Verizon's website, I've only ever visited Verizon's site, never been to motorola's site and I remember seeing the page right after CES because I was looking for any and all info on that version as it looked incredible.

Talked to a corporate store employee today and she said to look for a release in store between the 8th and the 12th, which sounded to me like a web release of the 4th and in stores on the 11th. Sounded to me like she was instructed not to give an exact release and that was her way of telling me the exact date without actually telling me. Would be inline with the dates we have been expecting.

Don't know about anyone else, but my count down says 9 days 22 hours 17 min 30 secs

Sams's Club not expecting the Droid Bionic until September? [Updated]

http://www.androidcentral.com/costco-not-expecting-droid-bionic-until-september#comments

Motorola Droid Bionic. "Pushed to September." Hard to say exactly what this means for the actual Verizon launch date of the Droid Bionic. Presumably one is tied to the other, but a September launch for the DB at Costco doesn't by any means mean Verizon's launch date has slipped. (And, yes, we're fully aware of that MDB228 Twitter account -- which might or might not be legit -- pointing to a possible Aug. 4 launch.)

9 days before a release of Verizons flagship phone, and we haven't heard a thing?

I don't see it releasing any time soon.

The internet confirmed D3's launch 6 days prior to its direct fill release so come back in 3-4 days mmm kay?

Yea but that wasn't there flagship phone.... I believe its the best phone available on VZ, but thats arguable.
They were probably spending more time caring about the Bionics release, since it will be there first Dual Core/4G phone, and there flagship.

Why wouldn't they show off the specs?

Either it isn't anything special and the specs aren't anything new, it has too many bugs, or they aren't releasing it soon.

Who's to say this is there flagship phone? Apparently the dinara is getting more buzz now as the next super phone. And its not that big of a jump to assume that since the specs are only incremental over the D3, that it essentially isnt anything special besides a little more ram and LTE.

One could argue why didnt they flaunt the d3's specs more? It's their big physical keyboard phone, as well as an iteration of model line that by itself saved moto mobility. You'd think theyd give it more credit. Apparently not. The charge got a commercial a week prior to launch and that was the 2nd LTE device out on vzw.. Think a little more positive.

Whether this is the "flagship" phone or not, I'm still optimistic about an 8/4 release date. As with everyone else, I have no confirmed information or real basis for this optimism. However, given what I've read in the forums and seen on other sites (e.g. some accessories becoming available, Amazon's posting of a car and HD dock, etc.), I think VZW and Moto are more ready than some would say to get this phone out there.

In terms of advertising - they are clearly keeping the launch date secret intentionally. One can theorize why they might be doing this but it doesn't change the fact that they are. We've seen before the approach to make a big one time splash days or even hours before availability and then advertise the heck out of it thereafter.

Remaining hopeful for a near term launch date...

To add to that....why no Droid commercials for the Droid 3, Droid X2 or Droid Incredible 2? But for the Charge? Like you said the Droid 3 is part of the line that basically saved Moto... and put Android on the map. To this day some ppl call any Android phone a Droid phone. You can also thank Verizon's advertising for that...lol

I got a feeling when the Bionic drops there's gonna be a ramp up of Droid commercials. If not...the fruity conspiracy theories will run rampant.
