I've had 3.5mm issues as well.
I've had TB 3.5mm issues as well. It seemed to work OK in my Pontiac Solistice, but it's very intermittent in my Chevy Equinox. The Equinox will play MP3s from the TB, then randomly and intermittently automatically switch back to the radio for a short period of time, then also randomly and intermittently switch back to the TB MP3s. Even when it's playing MP3s, I have to turn the car's volume almost all of the way up to hear it (the TB's Media Volume is always Max). It seems like the signal coming out of the TB's 3.5mm plug is too low. I never had this problem with my D1 or Zune, so I've got to think it's all TB issues.
