D1-miui-1.4.15 (Gingerbread)

Just my very first thoughts on this release:

- Orange, ewwww! Me want my blue back.
- No more vertical menu style? Now it looks just like plain Android.
- Having issues with apps not downloading or installing.. mmmm.

The only problem I've had with both roms is my data will randomly shut off and not turn on until I shut off and turen on data which is annoying..any recommendations or fixes??
I'm having this problem as well, except I can not get my data to work even if I toggle it off then back on.

If anyone has other suggestions to get it working please let me know.

Okay seriously how do I get apps to install? All I really need is Titanium Backup but it wont download or install from the market. Just hangs.

I tried reboots, tried canceling and restarting, tried clearing cache... mmmm
(I was happy on SS-5.2 but wanted to see how this GB is so far, might flash back)

Sent from a DROID1 behind bars for flashing unsuspecting ROMS in the park

The OP is a bit confusing, but is on point. What you have to do is:

1. Download an app
2. Exit out of market
3. Go to the "Downloads" app
4. Press menu and choose to use wifi network only
5. Press menu again and Change it back to 3G

That's what I did and it works perfectly. You only need to do this once

juniorjwh - Thanks man, didnt see that at first. Too much there to read and its usually the same version to version ha... thank bro...

i cant find the stupid "downloads" app... i can see its installed if i go to manage applications, but cant seem to get there from the homescreen anywhere...

wtf am i missing??

is there any way to change the notification setting on the lock screen? I can see that it says +1 but I want to know if it's GMail, Corp Email or something else. Thanks!

If you did not move any apps as soon as you loaded up miui then it will be on the screen if you slide left..

a2sd+

I've been seeing that Miui has been supporting a2sd+. I cant seem to get it to work at all. I've gotten an ext partition set up and it shows as 0.00 on the settings page, but altogether i cannot get it to work. Can anyone help me with this?

In managed applications you must select which ones you want stored on the SD card. Click on an application you want on SD then select to move it to SD.

Simple :-)

Good luck

Dear MIUI,

I love you oh so much, but I am forced to leave you again. You are so beautiful, so attractive, and so clever... but you have so many underlying flaws. I want you to play me music, but you stop playing when I ask you to check Facebook. I want you to be able to navigate while playing music, but that is too much to ask of you. It is not you I blame, but gingerbread. It was not meant for the Droid1. I am leaving you today for ChevyNo1's SS-5.2 who may not be as attractive as you, but she never kills my music app, and she can navigate while playing, and even record my GPS tracks while multitasking with no flaws... I am sorry.

Sadly,
IcculusX

PS:: If you go to rehab and fix yourself up I would be glad to come back to you, but until then I have no choice but to leave.
