D1-MIUI-Hybrid v1

Installed the update and here are my thoughts on it:

1. Boot screen is the Droid boot eye, what happened to the Chinese boot screen. Now this looks like every other ROM out there on boot up.

2. Phone, Contacts and MMS looks like every other ROM out there now and has no special feel like the original MIUI rom did.

3. Lock screen wallpaper you can not choose from Gallery, and are limited by just having the wallpaper that is pre-selected

4. When the phone rings, the old slider that goes up and down is gone, now its left and right

5. The ROM is speedy and pretty stable from the testing I have done with it.

6. FC when trying to view the call log after receiving a call

The changes while ok, take away from the MIUI that I have come to know. In fact for me, so much that I think I might pass as the changes just make this like any other ROM instead of one that stands out like it did with the MIUI way of doing things, phone, contacts, sms the little things like you slide to answer the phone, the boot screen, those were unique to what made this ROM different. I'm sure the changes made were for good reason and as I said the ROM seems pretty fast and the only FC I have seen is trying to view the call log.

Maybe its just me, but personally the changes just align this to feel like the other roms available and just took away the unique part of the way this ROM use to look and feel.

It sounds like i'm reading a movie review. I did this for myself and others who wanted the phone to not fc and have the *228 option.

About the bootanimation I thought the miui one was retarded so much so that I would rather have the regular droid one.

Oh and I'm pretty sure this isn't like every other rom out there.

This was meant to be constructive, seems like it wasn't taken that way. Sorry just my thoughts on the rom and sorry that the point was missed. I'm sure others will really enjoy it. I'll look forward to further development on the non hybrid version.

Ok new version is up. Added the MIUI launcher.

Awesome! Downloading now. I know I said I would check back tomorrow but I have insomnia so Ive been checking every hour or so lol. I probably won't get to test it out tonight though since I should probably try to get some sleep. I know that if I flash it I will be up the rest of the night and be dead tired at work tomorrow! Haha! I want to thank you again for responding so quickly to our issues and working your butt off to fix the bugs and get another version out. That shows passion and dedication IMO. I'll post tomorrow after I get to try it out to some extent. I have very high hopes though since the last version seemed very promising. Thank you again and take care.

Yea sometimes in the morning (or late at night) I can be! I did play some more with the ROM, I have to say it is really nice and very speedy. I still may play some more with it, Thanks for the work you guys do on these..

Zen - Nice work. I have been looking for something that has the Miui lockscreen and notification with a more robust base ROM.

That said, I am not too terribly familiar with Cyanogen since I have been more of BB and UD user. Is the base tweaked to manage memory, block ads, etc? Are any scripts installed?

apps arent restoring... anyone else with this issue?

For anyone flashing a new ROM, Cornicakes reminded me a few weeks ago that you can save yourself a ton of trouble by just restoring your data nandroid backup after you flash your new ROM.

I have done this in the past and recently have resumed this practice. In a nutshell, all you need to do is backup your existing ROM in clockwork (or just backup data in SP). Wipe everything, flash the new ROM, and before you reboot, restore just the data portion of the Nandroid backup and reboot. You should now have the new ROM with all your settings, apps and set up all restored.

I have not had an issue doing this while flashing approximately 6 ROMs over the last couple of weeks.
