I didn't bother....2GB wasn't worth the hassle and I'm not using hardly any of the 15 I have.
Box and Skydrive back-up all my work stuff, and that's the bulk of of the gigs I need. Google Music takes care of my music. And then I have Dropbox for some personal/miscellaneous stuff and live back-ups of anything I happen to be working on.
The only thing I could use, and not even sure it would be all that useful, is to back-up a new computer to the cloud. It probably makes more sense to carry that on flash storage, though.
I'm just talking a clean install back-up, mainly because if you replace a hard drive Windows has become a real PITA. If I had to do that while traveling, it could take an eternity to download a 60gig ISO over hotel wifi or a public hotspot. That's why I carry it on a USB stick, which I wouldn't have to carry if my phone had the available storage.
It's that day again, safer Internet day. I just completed the Google Account Security Checkup. Didn't see anything about extra Drive storage this year; not sure if they still give an extra 2GB or not? Still doesn't hurt to run through the quick security settings and make sure everything is up-to-date.

That's funny. I was just in there last night tweaking my 2-step verification settings. Ran the checkup again after seeing this thread pop back up. Nothing about any more free storage space here either. It was great while it lasted, but as you said @Sajo, still a good idea to check your settings from time to time.
