My apologies. Thank you for the pic!

Access the menu, choose Settings and check Batch operations.

I've always had Batch Operations checked, so I've always had the check marks we've been discussing.

After you posted your picture, I unchecked Batch Operations in the settings, and now mine looks like yours.

I thought that was a default setting, but I may have changed it, because I play with settings on EVERY app before using it.

Sorry for the confusion!

no apology needed - you're trying to help and can't see what my phone looks like. Once it dawned on me that I could take a shot of the phone and you could see what I see, I thought it may help. I thought I saw "batch operations" somewhere but flat couldn't find it again.

Yeah, takeshi's reply was spot on. I guess the batch operations isnt a default because I sure didn't change it. No matter, it's fixed now. Whew, what a relief. Open and delete one at a time was really bothersome.

Thank you guys/gals. I really appreciate your help.

Glad we could get you sorted out! And, like I said, I mess with settings first thing, so there's a REALLY good chance that I checked it when I first got the phone, because I had the G1 with Android, and that's how I used it on there as well...
