Did Apple Do It Wrong - The State of Smartwatches

So yesterday Apple finally did it, they released their smartwatch that has been rumored for the last year and a half now, if not longer. The good news for Android.. I'd like to say we still win. Especially in terms of design (Moto 360). What do you guys think, are you still pro Android Wear or now on Apples side? Or do you not feel like smartwatches aren't even worth it right now?

I haven't been a fan of any of them until the 360. Even after Apples unveiling, the 360 is still tops in my book. That said, I'd rather not be a part of their growing pains so I'll more than likely wait on the 2nd gen 360 if I decide to get one.

I don't understand the whole thing. We wanted bigger phones but then turn around and look at a very tiny screen to read our text messages?

Well that's not bad, it's old glanceable information if you're in a setting where checking your phone is considered rude, like in a meeting. My biggest gripe is Apple showing off how we can share pictures with friends I such a small screen. I mean, really.. That's when I can pull at my 5.5inch phone and show them, not use my watch.

@cr6 , I Agree. I can't wait to see shat a second gen Moto 360 will be like. Plus other manufacturers will like follow suit o the circle design with such high demand.

Thanks. Call me old fashioned but I assign specific text tones to specific important contacts as well as phone ringtones so that unless it's one of them I know just ignore it.
As far as the watch part,I stopped wearing watches when digital cell service came out on phones and they added external LCD clocks (LG 330 if memory serves was my first)
IF I were to get one I like how the LG one I saw on here looks like a watch, including hands and numbers , and isn't the size of a flip phone upper end.

Apple watch is a joke that my 2 year old would wear. Even moto watch is silly with that strap, short battery life and no Sapphire glass.

They still don't understand why people wear watches.

My roomy got a Sammy watch to go with his S4. He said the best part about it is he doesn't have to pull his phone out of his pocket nearly as often as he used to. Checking texts while working out is more convenient for him.

I completely agree with you. We started with bigger phones, moved to smaller flip phones, back to bigger phones, and now people want smaller phones again. It reminds me how text messaging revolved. Text messaging was released, and most people didn't even know how-to use it. They pushed for MMS, and eventually video chat, and now people rely on text messaging.

This world is a big cluster.

^^Exactly^^ people want what they don't have., then when they get it, they realize what they had worked just fine.

I agree with everything in this except the part where everyone wants smaller phones again, which is why they're almost non-existent nowadays. Even people in love with the 4" iPhone seem to be really excited for the 4.7" one, the Plus seems to be getting the most exposure as well to the mainstream.

I was making a statement on regard to the recent release of smart watches. iPhone isn't a good example anyway. They're playing catch up to every other smartphone having 5"+ screen.

I do love watches very much, last one I've bought Fossil at authenticwatchstore. I always wear watch, even at beach. But now I really interested in smart watch. Do you know, are they waterproof?

Apple will continue to lag behind Samsung and copy.
And people will continue to buy them as they are fashion accessories and one must have the latest fashion. :D
