Makes me wonder if it'll brick from the update at some point when some poor schmuck decides to check for updates and update, considering how buggy the update was then. LOL if it does brick.

They probably have the tools to fix it on the spot, so I don't think it'd be a problem if a display model bricked.

After checking out the verizon store today, ya the pixelated screen on the DX2 is very noticeable. Being an audio/visualphile, (PC Gaming, graphics whore) this stuff is important to me. If it actually saves battery, and can be seen better in sunlight, I guess I will not mind it on the Bionic. Heres hoping the Bionic is good. Does anyone remember if the original CES Bionic has pentile?

I want to see the Screen on the D3. to see if it is improved from the DX2.. If the D3 is better then the Bionic could be better if it is qhd...

I think people who defend pentile displays are those past the 14 day return, and are thus forced into defending an inferior product to feel better about a poor purchase.

I got a x2, returned it.. kept my x.

Again.. the only thing off i saw about the x2 was the battery widget which in itself is probably icon design... the web browsing i did with the x2 was certainly worthy of a smartphone display

But some ppl either dont notice it or dont care. Just like last year with the Incredible and Galaxy S 1 line. I know...I cant believe it myself....

I agree Unless you are going to hold it at the tip of your noise and stare at the Battery Icon.. I looked at the DX2 and it did not look bad at all to me.. All I am saying that if the Bionic is pentile maybe they can improve on the screen.

I have heard no one complain about the pentile screen on the D3 from the leaks of that have been released. Now that it is released I just want to hear what people have to say about it.

Checked out the DX2 yesterday at the verizon store, simply to see what this Pentile screen hoopla was all about.

Compared to the original DX, certain colors are grainier. For example, when I went to the droid-life.com site on the DX2, and the graininess jumped out at me with the pink banner running across the top. Is it a deal breaker? That remains to be seen, pending on what the whole phone experience is when the Bionic comes out. Wouldn't count the phone out just yet.

Now, the colors seem to be more saturated, blacks on the DX2 are reeaalllyy black.

I know I don't but the pentile display seems to be the biggest complaint of people. Me personally I do not see anything wrong with it after going to the Verizon store and messing with the DX2.
