Don't be a sucker for Verizon

Its always worth a shot. The lady told me that the only reason they switched it is cause noone really goes over the 2 gig mark. Now how much of that is true I don't know

The data tiered plans are absolute crap, it's just another way for vzw to get more money from their customers, they put it under the guise of protecting the network from users who overuse. or some crap. I remember when they switched MB usage from minutes to actual per MB, I was grandfathered in on that, but my wife HAD to upgrade her phone without me there and they refused to put me back on the plan when I found out two months later (I was away at training at the time) So simply pay attention when you upgrade and go ahead and ask/argue about getting unlimited if you are new, who know they might work with you.

I hated being forced out of ACII. I used to DL games from GIN

I honestly don't know how you can use 2gb in 2 days unless you're downloading NONSTOP 24/7. I don't even use that in a month.

With LTE, blazing through that much data is EASY. Trust me. I've zoomed through 1GB a day for the past few days.

Yeah they like to tell you what you wanna hear, when I went to the verizon store to upgrade my phone to the droid 3 the lady tried to get me to go with the 2 gb tiered plan like it was a great deal. I told her I would be a moron to do that because I am grandfathered in on the unlimited plan. Why would I pay a penny more and a cap on top of that. She told me I probably never reached 2 gigabytes, I laughed and told her to go look. She looked and her eyes lit up she could not believe I had over 20 gb. She ask me how I got so many, I told her I simply do a little facebook :)
I think they get big bonuses for downgrading people that are grandfathered. Like I said earlier in a post there are still good people that work for Verizon that will sell you the unlimited plan to new customers. People I know had their best luck with people on the toll free number.

Proud of my bloated D3, I don't miss unstable roms on my D1 at all!

All right, lets try this again. Lets keep it clean. No more pm's, no more warnings!

You can change your minutes and retain the unlimited plan. Unless you're adding a new line of service or upgrading from a basic phone to a smartphone, you keep that plan. A basic phone that already has an unlimited plan may also keep that plan when switching to a smartphone. This info is all over the internet...

I am going to be arguing for my unlimited back aswell. I haven't paid the phone bill in a month exact so I'm positive they are going to take away my unlimited

I just upgraded from my Dare to the D3 because of the buy one get one free promotion plus the customer service rep on the phone said she could get me the data package for only $20 a month for a year for the 2GB plan. Now she's saying the department that handles that is saying they can't do it. She's supposed to be getting with her supervisor about the issue, but we'll see how that goes. That was one of the main reasons for going ahead and upgrading.

It was time for our contract to end, so I'm wondering if I just call and say that since they can't hold up to their end of the deal I want to send them back and cancel my service, if they will either A) give me the stated price or B) allow me to move to the $30 unlimited. We've had Verizon for about 10 years now, so I definitely think we are obvious loyal customers.

There is no $20/3GB plan. There is a $20/300MB PLAN and a $30/2GB plan. Why would you become entitled to a retired unlimited plan because a VZW person accidentally mixed up the plans? As for loyalty, how are you, "obvious loyal customers," if you're threatening to leave over a small mix up?

the rep promised so either needs to follow through our give up something better like the unlimited. Which is apparently still available on the prepaid plans

If VZW broke policy for every time a rep accidentally said one thing instead of another, the company would be out if business.

Unlimited plans are still available on prepaid plans. Also, pedals are still available on bikes. I went to the dealership the other day to get some on my car, but they couldn't do it! I'm pissed.

maybe you need to go to another so then pedals on a car can't be that hard just a good weld and some chain.

If she promised then she needs to follow through. That's called good customer service

I used to work inbound costumer service you would be surprised at what can be broken to keep a customer. The amount they pay by staying a customer trumps what little is lost to make them happy
