Hey guys, have a droid 2 here for about 3 weeks, have the hang of the thing and now Im looking to get a little more out of it. Looking for good apps, some ocasional tech support and maby even rooting a little down the road. Im an average joe when it comes to the tech stuff but my main fear is to brick my phone.

I've been working on computers for a while. First computer back in 1984. Before hard drives were available to the home computer. We had to program everything in basic. Now my phone has more computing power than my old laptop. Go figure.

I'm a hack programmer with aspirations of world domination. I don't seem to manage following the rules very well. Computers are here to serve us. Is it so bad to make them run the way I want them too? I have lived with my droid a whole month without breaking it. I'm starting to tarnish my reputation. Old age maybe.

Droid X

I'm Tiffany. I got my Droid X in August. I have had a couple small issues, but nothing major to date. Last week I received the automatic update to Android 2.2.1 and have had several issues since then. I am unable to find any answers, so I thought I would search the forums here to see what I could come up with. Not sure where I need to go to post my issue. Anybody????

1Hello my name is lark, I got my droid x in October and absolutely love it. But recently I my phone has a problem. I have tried to delete a song from my sd card and my screen turns black. After waiting awhile I then reboot the phone by removing the battery and the song is still there. Please help me to solve this problem.

new Droid owner. Bought it and rooted it the same day. I have a 2.2.1 rom running at the moment. Am looking to see if there is a newer or better running rom out there at the moment. Right now I have a Kernel version of 2.6.32.9-g68eef5 and my build number is FRG83D.

I used a simple program to root it that I found on the web and it seemed to work pretty good.

I work in the IT field as a Network Admin so I am always interested in technology and ways to distort it or make it work better for myself. Any ideas, don't hesitate on sending me information.

I just upgraded to a Droid 2 from my first smartphone, an LG Ally, which I loved (Although it had poor reception/ lousy antenna, was slow loading, and waited forever for the upgrade to 2.2, promised in June 'any day now' and still hadn't come mid-December). Loving the Droid!

I've lots of questions as I've zilch tech training - I'm a healer - and am self taught on my Mac. What's root and rooting for instance? Looking forward to learning! :happy:

This will be the first phone I've had that costs money! all the other ones I've used have been the default free ones that come with the contract.

I'm a mac user, musician, grad student (microbiology) and hockey fan (go flyers).

I am Amy. I work for Big Red, and if you question me about your bill I will laugh at you because i'm here to play with Rooting, and themes and other things that I love about my Droids, not play with your account. I have a Rooted DINC, and yes my warranty is VOID but totally worth it, and a non rooted Droid2, the worst phone I have ever had minus several Windows Mobile devices which I hated also. It's buggy and I haven't even hacked it yet! Grrr! I can't because it's my company phone. Other than that, I am here to play.

Phones are my life. Technology is amazing. I love selling them, programming them, and I am new to this art of Root. I will be amazing at it someday though.

My nine year old has a Motorolla Citrus which runs Android and Bing, and he loves it as well. I want to take bing off and make it run Google but alas I can't. Or haven't figured it out yet.

I live in small town Oklahoma, I love rock music, fast cars, stereo equipment, and ya know...big tv's with surround sound. 1080p not 720.
