I just got my Droid this afternoon and totally lost and slightly frustrated. I feel discombobulated trying to get used to it! I went from a G8700 blackberry that I got in 2006 to the Droid so you can see how way behind I was.

I am not tech savvy at all and just want someone to take my phone for a few hours, make it work just like I want it to, and then hand it back to me so I can get back to what I was doing this morning, which was *nothing*.

I just got my Droid on Saturday. I didn't know I was going to get one. Stopped by the Verizon store to shop for my contract-renewal and left with a Droid! I love it. My hubby is not understanding the need for an additional 30.00 per month for "internet". Will be working on that one. I just told him I got a free phone and bought a new camera.

I am in Southern California.

hello and Happy New Year. i've been lurking around this site for a few days now learning things from it for my new Droid, that i got just a couple of day b4 Christmas. i'm loving the phone and all it's possibilities. thanks to all those who've gone b4 and figured these things out.

I am new to this forum. Forgive me if I am breaking the rules. I thought I had introduced myself as zingersworld. I am actually also known as Carole. I purchased a Blackberry Storm in Feb. and was chomping at the bit until the Droid came out. I had difficulty getting my email set up except for the Gmail. I went to three different Verizon stores and got no help whatsoever. Tonight my web server finally was able to give me the necessary settings that I needed to manually input and Yahoo....I can finally get my emails,.:icon_ banana: I only had until 12/6 to return my Droid and I loved everything else about it. Now I am happy.

How did you get the email set up? It just magically happened? I really want to get my email on my phone but having GREAT troubles!!

Very new droid user! Just got it yesterday! I've figured out a few things but still working on others! Can't seem to connect to my current earpiece (Motorola H700 - pretty old!) and it won't let me set up my email other than gmail! :-(
Loving the apps and special features! Pics aren't that great, but not my primary camera so not that concerned!
Oh, I'm in Indianapolis.

I currently use an LG Voyager (personal phone) until my New Every Two deal is up in May 2010 anyway. (I use a BB 8830 world edition phone for my work ) I didn't really think much of the G1 because of the form factor and the T-Mobile factor.:icon_eek:
I have been drooling over the Droid since it was announced. And I am trying to work the best angle to get one ASAP. I am also looking into the Android Developers SDKs. Who knows where that might lead! :icon_ devil:

Stephan is the name and im looking for some answers on my new Droid. Im having some issues trying to get custome alert/notification tones for my Droid. Does anyone know how i can get all this to work? I can set my ringtone, but not my text tone. I dont like the notification sounds this system provides for my text messages. Is there an application i can purchase or download for free? Little direction would be great! Thanks and enjoy your Droids!

Well maybe download Handcent from the Market. It's a new SMS and MMs app. Set that as your default messaging app. In that one you can set a different tone and LED flas color among other things.
