Loving the DROID. I've had it for a little over 2 weeks. I just got the car dock and I was amazed when I used the Google Navigation for the first time!

Happy to have stuck with Verizon for a lil longer. I wanted the iPhone for the longest time, but AT&T's reception is terrible. =P

New to forum

Hi! I'm new to this forum and to Droid. I'm a Mac user and former iPhone user. Love my Mac and loved the iPhone. AT&T, however, is a different issue. Their service is BAD! Thus, I purchased my Droid between Christmas and New Year.

Still learning how the device works. Hopefully, I will be able to learn and share with everyone in this forum

Hi, I'm Jim and got my Droid on Nov. 9th. I wish I would have found and joined this forum earlier - what a wealth of fascinating knowledge. This little slab of technology does some amazing things and seems to be incredibly durable as well - in two months it has been dropped from a chairlift and immersed in a mug of beer, so... I think I found the phone that suits my personality!

On a personal note, I a retiree of the National Park Service and now spend most of my free time skiing, cycling and revising database apps that I wrote for my former employer. Not bad to have a leg-up on the code before you even start!

Greetings, my first foray into a smart phone. Just bought the Moto Droid the other day and am just getting to know the phone. I appreciate forums where a person can lurk and learn, and even post for replies. I hope to glean a lot of useful info here. Thanks everyone for the welcome.

Philip here... got a BOGO yesterday at Verizon. I started out with the old Motorola brick way back. Got the PDA smartphone I (black green screen) then the smartphone II (color)
Fell in love with son's Iphone & vowed to get one as soon as V came out with them, and here I am. I have a mobile broadband card I am ditching in 2 weeks (out of contract) & can't wait to tether.

Hello! I'm a droid user and it is pretty fantastic; but some of the bugs I've seen lately have been super annoying and I'm trying to figure out how to fix 'em.

Well I never had a smartphone just the typical phones throughout my life. First phone was from Motorola actually then it went to a nextel phone to a sidekick. From there I went to Verizon with the voyager. That phone was pretty cool and loved it at the time. I always had friends and family who did have smartphones and a sister who has and still does have an iphone. Before the droid even came out I was thinking to switching the Att and getting the iphone but when I seen the droid on tv and read about it, I had to get it. I loved Verizon's service as in coverage and all but really wanted an iphone for some time now but didn't what to switch really. So, I took my chances and went with the Droid and I'm glad I did. I love this phone and can't live without it or leave home without as well.

Hey All

Hey i have just switched back to Verizon from AT&T and purchased the droid.
I have had it for 2 days now and i love it, wouldn't go back to Iphone unless they brought it to Verizon and improved it. Already put new backgrounds on it from this site and ordered a graphic for the back of my phone. Can't wait to get it!! Will post pics. Background is carbon fiber with an oil slick inlay.

Hi guys! I'm Mr_Birds and I got the motorola droid as a birthday present last month and I love it so much (especially since I was stuck with literally the worst phone I've ever owned for over a year before I got this bad boy). I thought I'd join because it seems like every time I had a question about the droid Google would always point me here, this forum has been amazingly handy for me (especially since my droid didn't com with an instruction manuel).

Hi all. I am a blackberry convert for 4 days now and I am getting around the Droid pretty well for such a short time, although it will take a few more days to learn how to navigate a touch screen with paws. One funny thing to mention though, I just got an email about 15 minutes ago and the date received was "12/31/1969". I hope it doesn't take that long to get emails... I thought it very funny.
