Just wanted to say a quick thank you to the OP for this thread. I have to send my GF's Droid2 back to Verizon due to a faulty camera and the RSDLite / SBF guide worked flawlessly.

Ok fellows in a new here and also new to the hacking so I was wondering which way do u guys recommend to go about hacking my d2 global.. no I'm not the greatest person with these gadgets but I wanna give it a shot or a link any help would be appreciated..

z4root to root it, the D2G SBF if anything screws up. Do NOT try to flash a D2 ROM onto a D2G as it will brick it.

You don't install the SBF, you just need to have it in case things go VERY badly wrong. z4root is available here:

[APP] z4root - xda-developers

It's free, just need to sign up for an account.

You don't have a file manager installed. Install Astro from the market, then enable installation from unknown sources in Settings> Applications> Unknown Sources.

I still keep getting "cannot d/l content is not supported on this phone"..I had astro and unknown sources since I got it..

Sideload it? Download it on a computer and then put it on your SD card, then install from inside Astro.

Also, do you have an XDA account? If not it won't download anyway.

If it says something about running the exploit, pull the battery and reboot. Run z4 root again and you should be fine.
