droid 3 software update

I was firmly convinced that the Bionic was a fairy tale. I waited and waited and waited some more. I went to the Verizon store to ask about the specs, did it have a slide out keyboard? NO said the salesperson, that was the deal breaker. So I got the Droid 3. What an improvement over the Droid 1. The lock on the GPS is amazing, less than 2 seconds. overall I am very pleased with it, except for one issue. I had ordered the car dock and the charger was missing. Motorola sent a generic charger that was not compatible with it and it overheated and destroyed the phone. After a long battle with Verizon and Motorola, I was sent a new phone and the correct charger. Once again I am very pleased with this phone.
Sure 4G would have been nice on the Droid 3 but my area won't see 4 G for a long time and to have a phone killing the battery looking for 4G coverage didn't make sense.
The keyboard is massive, a major plus for my big fat thumbs. The fifth row on the keyboard is a big A+.
While my phone was being repaired, I was lent a Blackberry Curve. How in the name of God do people use these things. I have never had a phone that I despised so much. How can you see what is marked on the keys? That horrible mouse pad thing! The operating system! All I wanted to do is flush it down the toilet. Granted it would have been really cool in 1973 when I was six years old and had tiny fingers but how does a grown man type on that keyboard? I had to use the end of a pencil to send a text. Yes I understand that it uses an encryption for emails, but if you're not in the spy business do yourself a favor and flush it down the toilet and get a Droid 3.

Epic lulz. It's not fair that the Blackberry Curve should be considered a smartphone...at least compared to Android.

I went from a blackberry to this phone. I miss my little curve keyboard, and bbm. And a few other features. This is a much finer machine but its weird having such a wide keyboard.

Thanks again. I just got the phone up and running again... The update failed the first try, I had to go in and unfreeze all the bloat. After that no problem. Now lets see how this will improve things.........

Camcorder Focus?

Does the focus still rack like crazy in camcorder mode? Going in and out? Or did they add focus control so you can set it to infinite? Id love to do this install but if those issues weren't addressed in this one I was just going to hold off for the official OTA. THANKS for any help!

Hate to jump on the bandwagon here but I'd love to get the update. This blue camera is driving me nuts. I don't feel like waiting on Verizon on this one. Thanks in advance!
