Droid Bionic Update is Available for Everyone!

You all will probably get it soon. I downloaded it this morning. I love the camera improvements. It's noticeably faster when taking pictures and even opening the camera app is almost instantaneous.

Downloading now. Interesting it did not tell me update was available. Will post after it installs if I see any changes better performance. My phone is not rooted. I do hope it fixes the phone not coming back on line when not in use for a while. I have had my phone not come back but green light is blinking. Press button on top left and cannot bring phone back. Only way to get back on is to pull battery. Has happened about 3 times since I have had phone.

Dissapearing Apps

Anyone confirm if this fixes the known "Dissapearing Apps" problem I've been having when I move apps to the media area? I've been waiting forever for an update to fix this.

So, I just checked and the update is available. Should I:

1. unfreeze all of my apps/bloatware and unroot to download the update? Try to root after?
2. do the forever root thing and then unfreeze my apps/bloatware and do the update?

If I forever root will I be able to get future updates like Ice Cream Sandwich?

OK, I couldn't wait for an answer. I decided to go with the forever root method. I updated successfully and still have root!! Doing a Nandroid backup right now. Next I will refreeze bloatware and redo the WiFi Tether Hack.

I am getting the same message in NYC.... have been for days. It use to say "System up to date"

"Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later."

I am getting same message in LA. I have searched numerous other forums and people are saying different things...battery pull, try on wifi only, turn off auto push for social networking. I have been trying it all and still not working. Someone tried a factory reset and it worked. I dont know if i want to. I am not rooted and plain old stock.

Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Give it another day and repeat those steps. eventually it will come.

Update is blowing my mind away. Especially in battery life. 10+ hours and still at 80%, NEVER got that before

im both looking forward to this update and worried about it at the same time. some reports state it's great while others show little change and others still state it made matters worse. i dont use 4G much because my signal at work stinks and when im home i use wifi, so im not sure if my data drops are mostly due to the poor signal here at work or the network. i hope i didnt make a choosing this phone over an X2.

Going great for new so far, really improved the camera! Never had any data drop problems so that wasn't an issue me
