Droid Razr Maxx HD waiting lounge.

I want to upgrade to something that is more reliable on the network. I already have about the same battery as I have the extended and it lasts me a couple days.

I see your point too. I also have the extended battery and can last about two days so no complaints there. I guess having to wait until December gives me one benefit. I can see if anything better comes out right before christmas and if not go with the Maxx HD. Good luck on your choice. Ain't this stuff fun. LOL

I'm going to wait and see what's announced on Oct 29th. Then I'll do something. I've lived with this crap for almost a year another month or 2 won't kill me.

I've got to say now that I've played with the phone. The camera is probably the worst I EVER used/had. My Bionic too 1000% better pictures. The images look like they were taken with a cheapo camera phone from 8 years ago. For comparison.
I took a picture with my old Razr Maxx and it looked great. This new $300 phone. Nope!

I suppose its possible if he just took it out of the box and didn't add anything to it. Mine's fully loaded from all the apps that restored to it and are chewing up free memory. Still though while it might not be the fastest phone in benchmarks it's really snappy in real life even with all these apps on it. I have 172 apps installed.

Got it!

Just got the RAZR MAXX HD from Verizon.

I admit the screen of the GS3 seems slightly better. It had a "flatter" look. But the Droid's AMOLED display is very nice.

The GS3 definitely feels cheaper. The Motorola feels more solid.

I definitely prefer the stripped down UI of the RAZR to the GS3.

It seems the speaker and earpiece of the RAZR should be louder. I feel that the max volume setting is not up to par with my Droid Incredible. But perhaps I have not delved deeply enough into the settings and the max volume can be adjusted?

I find the phone to be very cumbersome with the Verizon silicon proetctor; it makes the buttons hard to press and makes the phone feel too big when making a call. Not to mention, it really hides the beauty of the phone. So for now I will take my chances and keep it unprotected.

So far everything is running smoothly. I don't plan to root until my 14-days are up and I decide for sure to keep the phone.

Unfortunately I was not able to keep my unlimited data plan. For me it was not worth paying the full retail price as I am not a very heavy data user. Still, I can't help but feel raped by Verizon for taking my grandfathered plan away from me. But carriers are evil, what can you do.

Hey RaveD, would you mind testing the Foxfi app to see if it works?

Played with the RAZR Maxx HD and it is an awesome device. Solid, fast, and camera really is not bad at all. The people who would most gravitate to it are those upgrading from droid x. In fact the Motorola rep there was going hard after people walking in with a DX or d2. As for me I'm waiting for the note 2. Sammy and VZW has to really work hard to scree it up to make me buy something else.

I listen to music for hours on end so good sound quality is a need for me.
I love the ui of the razrs as well. Touchwiz is too dare I say apple -like not in the fact that they look similar but that they are both too cartoonish looking for me

I feel with a SW update the camera can be great. Since most of the issues are related to brightness and processing. I had a DX but I still prefer the Maxx HD over the GS3.
