[TOOLS] Droid RAZR Utility 1.8

That is also odd when you updated your post it must have "pushed" it into my quote of your post.
could have sworn it was not there when I quoted you post.

I am starting this but may have jumped the gun a little.
I installed Voodoo Root Keeper from "Play" Store" (I despise the fact they renamed it to Google "Play Store", Market seemed a little more professional) first onto my Unrooted phone.
Will it be okay there or should I re-install it from the utility as part of the steps?

In your instructions didn't you also miss the step for installing "Ice Cream Sandwich Root 4.0.4." which actually performs the root? (I read your instructions 4 times before asking this questions.)
That being the case should I also install SafeStrap after the rooting or before?

..

I also installed voodoo from play store (ditto on the name change). So no need to do that step in the utility. Basically what you will be doing is making sure you have the latest Motorola drivers on your PC, then step 2 of the utility (which will root your phone), then the step to install safestrap.

So in my instance I only need to do Step 2 and the Step 5 from the uitlity and I am rooted and ready to install a Custom Rom when I want in the future?

Yes, but you can also do the last step in the list from the post with Voodoo to double check your root and protect your root.

But I already have it installed...remember...see post #167. Or do I have to re-install it?

..

No, not install voodoo but open it to check that all the boxes are checked and to check off protect root.

Okay I ran step 2
I got about 20 of these messages (in the cmd box running the utility):
"adb server is out of date, killing"
"adb server didn't ack"
"daemon started succesfully"
"rebooting device"

It rebooted about 4 time with these errors listed multiple times in between. (It also showed a few other statements during the listing in the CMD box)
Then the utility page announced....
[*] Exploit comlpete!
[*] Press any key to exit

Voodoo does not show the "Device Rooted" checkbox checked."
only box checked is "/system supports root protection".
Whats up?

Do I need to do a screenshot and post?

Here is error page from failure after starting with step 2 of utility.
There are few more statements above it but could not get all in one cmd box.

Command box is still in this state....Should I "Enter" to return or pick another step?
...

Your phone rebooted is on ICS still? Are any boxes in voodoo checked?

It looks like your PC -the utility was not connected to your phone. Did you have it plugged in as a media device? Did you install the latest moto drivers?

In Voodoo....

Status:
"Superuser app installed" (and it shows Google Play link to Superuser)
and only box checked is "/system supports root protection".

.....Superuser is not shown in apps
