[APPS] Droid X/2 Overclock App - Easy & Noob friendly ;)

After the update to 1.0.4, I cannot overclock anymore. I have tried setting just about every kind of overclock and underclock and I cannot get it to work right anymore. Says it successfully applied it...Droid X

I also get FC. I'm wondering if it's because I overclocked manually before getting this app. I noticed there was a message from JRummy that there is a fix coming soon. Wasn't sure if it was for the same issue that I'm having.

OC stopped working on my X sometime Saturday. Maybe after one of the updates? I can select any option but when I go and check I'm still set for stock. It had been running great earlier. X is pretty stock except for rooting.

For fun (not), I did a factory reset. Loaded only recovery and OC app. Ran app, it got permissions, said it OC'd. It didn't. I guess something broke on the X?

1.05 is out. Fixed my FC's.

on a side note, you guys should all pull down gscript lite, and enter this into a script for a Sanity Check before setting it to boot:
Code:
 su
 cat /proc/overclock/mpu_opps

Running DROID X ROOTED ALL STOCK .. was having issues yesterday with the app but todays update was great. now where before I had QS/1345 stock. Now Im running 1.3 LV getting QS of 1466 . thats still better than what I had stock . so Im guessing those of us running stock rooted might have to actually use a ROM to get some of these higher scores beoing used by these gentlemen . THANK YOU JRUMMY, THANK YOU DROIDFORUMS.net .
whats the best recommended ROM to use on DX ?
any suggestions ?

Running all stock Droid 2. Switched to Ultra Low Voltage 1.4 from Low Voltage. Running great so far since this morning. Pulled an 1839 on quadrant. Loving this new app.

Very great app had my droid x running at 2ghz for about 20 mins. Lasted setcpu stress test for like 5 mins with no errors

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

Droid X here wouldn't do anything over 1.1 gh, but I did switch to ultra low voltage @ 1.1 gh, and it seems to be running fine the first few hours. Oddly enough, I was getting slightly higher Quadrant scores at ULV compared to running it at the stock voltages. (I was already using APEX overclocked to 1.1 which I presume keeps voltages at stock values)

So the only bonus I see could be the battery life at ULV; that alone would be worth the 99 centavos.
(not to mention Jrummy is a great guy who deserves my buck ;-) )

Does anyone know the value for the stock voltage and the value for the ultra low voltage- and/or comment on battery life? All in all, the phone is so snappy in general that I wouldn't mind going back to the stock 1.0 Ghz at ULV- would that provide any significant battery saving with SetCPU set to "ondemand"?

Thanks if you have any insights!

Fail

Well I think I killed my DX. I OC'd to 1.3 on medium voltage and after everything was working fine for a few days i decided to go ahead and set it as boot. After that, it all went to ****. my phone freezes and wont reboot. It gets to the home screen when booting and freezes. Sometimes it doesnt even make it that far and will turn off at the motorola logo. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Out of desperation I tried a factory restore, but that also failed.

..maybe since it's stuck on the motorola logo they wont be able to tell its rooted and give me a new one???

great app check one thing though guys ive been playing around with ocing my Droid x and have come to realize that anything over 1.38-1.39 depending on where my voltage values are set the phone will reboot when you go to use the video camera ive been able to run the phone up to 1.5 GHz run stress tests and quadrant but when trying to record the screen freezes and reboot

Just SBF the phone back to stock; shouldn't be too hard.

Ive been running 1.3ghz medium voltage now for a little over a day, screaming fast and no issues at all.

And no noticable drain in battery.

Im not setting it to auto config at boot just in case and only reboot my phone maybe 1 or 2 times a week, so I dont mind just going in and manually changing it.

EDIT: And now I actually have a Tasker task setup to auto open the overclock app when the phone boots so I can set it ;)
