Droid X Battery Life

Yeah as far as apps I have three screens used right now, all my games and power controls on one. Beautiful widget updating weather every hour on another, plus my txt msg and email box. Then the browser and market, then on the thrid page my root programs and twitter updating every 15 min. Other than that I don't use the task killer anymore, I think my battery got a little worse not using it but not much.

Do you have social networks updating with WIFI only? Or normal? Also, it sounds like we have about the same apps on the screens.. I dont use twitter and only have weather and calender widgets.. Im still confused how bad my batter life is! I honestly love this phone but the battery has disappointing to me a bit since lots of people say its awesome!!!

Yeah Twitter is new for me to, I had it set to sync over wifi until I installed Twitter today.

Let us know if you have any changes on your battery life tomorrow by not have the wifi only updates checked..

You don't need any APP Killers on your phone at all. The OS takes care of killing APP's that are no longer needed when resources are low.

So why does 8 out of 10 people say you should have the app killer including VZW reps??? Its kinda annoying the contradiction.

How exactly do you do to maximize your batter time?

Thanks for your input...

Used to use advanced task killer but uninstalled it, but did notice my battery does not last as long without it.

8am til 5pm....I am email, facebook, twitter and some internet checking here and there.

My problem is where I work I get BARLEY 1 bar of service and sometimes 3G is in and out. We all know those factors alone are battery killers. Sucks being in a building built in 1920 for cell phone service....not if there is a bomb dropped though!

To start... most VZ reps only know what corporate tells them. Ask them something that is not in their "handouts" of knowledge and most get lost really quick. That said, check out this article by one of the android developers about task killers. After reading that you can make up your own mind about going with the thoughts of the company who wants to sell you stuff, or the people that created the operating system.

That is a great article. Makes lots more sense.

I have now had this phone for 5 days and still am learning things. I do however not know why my batter still drains significantly faster than what others say.

I charge my phone to 100% before bed (I'm usually around 30-40% when I put it on to charge.) Then at night it goes down a little, but I put it on the charger when I wake up and when I leave for work 40mins later I'm at 100%.

I just tried what was suggested above...

Here is what I got. I fully charged it from 8-10 pm about. By 11Pm it was at 80%. I left it unplugged overnight but ON. I woke up and had 60%. Now I am plugging it in to fully charge for the day. I can truly say that I have very little confidence that I will get a full days of work out of it. Remember, I get 5 hours total!

Any thoughts??

Either you have very poor signal in your area or you have some app that is eating up battery. There's no reason you should be dropping 20%+ overnight with the screen off. Download spare parts and look the detailed battery info and see if any app/widget jumps out as a big consumer of battery.

I had the same problem with mine for the first month. I work at Verizon and no I am not a Rep. I got a bad battery I would go in at 7 am and by noon it was dead.

Get a new battery they are warranty for a year. Don't go to a store cause more than likely they will put on test call blah blah bull ****. So call cs and complain they will ship you a new one

Thanks for your input. So how many hours are you getting with your new battery?
