Droid X- Windows Live Email Issue

I have a windows live email account. It is an alumni account so it ends with .edu. I cannot get this email account working on my Droid X. Everytime I try to add it I get the following message: "The Social Service is unable to automatically set up this account". I have tried to set it up manually with no luck. There is still a connection error. Please help.
