Droid2 official gb release 8/31 11:59pm

Anyone know anything about an sbf file for the update yet? I really want to change over to CM7GB but without the sbf file I am leary to do it.

There is a Froyo SBF, and a GB update.zip.

My Droid 2 is rooted but stock. I didn't change anything to it except root. I received the ota today. If I install it can I root it with the one click?

So I had stock 2.2, then rooted it. I used Android Tether all the time to use my phone as a wifi hotspot.

I updated it with the OTA Gingerbread update today, and then used the Motorola One Click Root.

I still have the Super User application, but my tether application won't work anymore. I un-installed it, rebooted, re-downloaded and it still won't work. When I install the application the Super User permission dialogue doesn't pop up.

Any ideas?

Used the TBH sbf file b4 upgrade, downloaaded update fine, got to the New boot logo, then bootloader screen. ...
Re sbf using Linux method, full sbf, now all good except one little thing:
Every minute or 2 when screen is off, my backlight on softkeys light up. Happens so fast and faint I barely noticed it even in dark room. Did not seem to negatively affect battery, only lost 5% over night.
Any ideas.???
And to prior post, online market transferred to phone real smooth over wifi for me.

Got it figured out! Those blinking backloghts on the softkeys were about to drive me crazy...
Amyway I figured it probably had to do with an app, but with so many installed,..
Turns out the problem went away when I finished setting up LightFlow, including enabling accessibility.
My overall review? Great! Thanks Moto/Verizon.!
It used to take about a full 2 minutes to build any app list on Froyo. Like when adding a shortcut on my homescreen to an app. My screen would time out b4 the list ever generated. . .Now it's almost instantaneous! Wow!

Blur_Version.2.3.20.A955.Verizon.en.US.zip

Here ya go - put on SD card root, rename to update.zip, launch stock recovery, select apply update.zip. Done.

Make sure you're doing this over stock Froyo.

I have a rooted Droid 2 (not global or R2D2) but I cannot install the Gingerbread update on my phone. I used z4root to unroot my phone and supposedly it's unrooted. Now, Every time I download the update, then the phone reboots and when it powers back on, it says "update failed." I tried to reset my phone back to factory settings and did the whole download process again and got the same result. Then I saw this post, so I clicked on the link, downloaded the zip file, put in on my SD card root directory, renamed it to update.zip, then tried to apply the update.zip but it failed again. I've never flashed my phone before and have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Please advise.

If you uninstalled any of the Motbloatware your update will not work. Has to be factory. You may need to SBF and then update. Rooting the update is super easy.

Hi guys, lots of good info here. Does anyone know if the update affects or is affected by the 3g hotspot mod?
Basically will the update run if the mod was done and will it undo it?
Thanks in advance..

Are you unrooted? Stock with no bloatware? You should have it, if not get it from droidlife

My D2 is miles ahead of me running Cm7GB(OTAkernel)
