Female droid users - are there any here?

I love my droid! No one has said anything about it being masculine. My backgrounds are girly.....but I wish I could make the folders different colors or prettier than just gray. Lol

I think droid is pretty and can't wait to bedazzle it and get a shiny metallic pink case for it...

ew ee gads I just threw up a little

Guilty...of being female and very shallow when it comes to color and style. Also beginning to wonder if I am the only female Droid owner around here that was offended by the Princess commercial (please, no more "get over it" comments--been there, done that!). That ad certainly did make me wonder if I should return the Droid and wait for something that was at least designed with my preferences in mind. The thing is that I really could not compromise on something with less abilities than this phone so my techie side won out. There isn't anything out there now and I'm not willing to wait for another one to come along.

But I do have a nice case for it now. :) This phone can be whatever someone wants because it offers many ways to do things. I think it won't appeal much to people who don't enjoy figuring things out for themselves whether male or female. My husband isn't at all interested in it but he sees computers and phones as just tools to get his work done. He's probably also a bit jealous.

I'm a woman droid owner and love it! I am in corporate management in a mostly female company. My peers are very impressed with my droid and several are changing over to it from whatever phone they have. I like the sleek black design. A woman at the Verizon store tried to put a hot pink cover on it. I told her to keep it! I use so many of the functions in my work, it has proven to be an HUGE asset to me. Plus, there are apps that will entertain my 5 year old when needed. It's really a ladies phone! Didn't you know?! :)

I'm a woman and since I won't get my Droid until the 30th (contract issues) I can't really say whether I love the functionallity yet. I do hope it does it's job well as I really need email capabilities for work and school, and web-browsing for school especially. I will tell you though, I like how the Droid looks! I do think it's masculine because it's "boxy" but I like the angles and lines on it, for me it'll make me look more business-y or tomboyish so I won't feel like a complete prissy frill girl when I want to dress nice. But if I do want to make it "girly-er" there are cases for that.

-LOVING the responses from the ladies on here...knew there'd be a few and they're all class acts.

As for "No boys allowed", if the thread turns into a slumber party Verizon's gonna need new commercials.

Count me in as another female droid owner. I totally love my phone. I don't think it is pretty exactly, but I wouldn't call it ugly either. But I don't really care, I love all the stuff that it can do and I love that it isn't locked down. This is my first smart phone (don't need it for work or anything) and I'm perfectly happy. :)

I'm also a female using the Droid. I love its looks personally. I like the clean lines of the phone without the fancy stuff to try and pretty it up. I love the functionality of it, backed by the network that allows me to surf the web just about anywhere. I'm coming from a Sidekick from Tmobile, and I have to say that I much prefer everything about the Droid, even it's flaws to the Sidekick.

I haven't seen the princess commercial, so I can't comment, but I really doubt it would bother me. I think that many women these days want functionality rather than something in a cute package and are willing to overlook the masculine aspect of the phone's design. Its really more about how it works than how it looks as well. My mother loves pink, Hello Kitty and flowers and even though she doesn't think the Droid is pretty, she still wants to play with it when I'm over at her house.

Also, I think that the open platform and the app development were what won me over to the phone instead of a Windows phone. I was also considering the HTC Hero on the Sprint network as well, but the Droids screen was just a no brainer.

I'm a female droid user (as of 6 days ago) and I'm also completely new to smartphones. So I don't have any previous personal experience to compare the Droid with. I've found this forum extremely helpful, so thanks everyone for sharing your questions and your expertise. I like it so far, but still have lots of learn. I'm much more interested in the functionality of my phone and how it works for me than how it looks. I'm a university librarian and mobile devices are increasingly used on campus to access and use all kinds of academic content.

Yup. Had a G1 for the last year and replaced it with a Droid since T-Mobile service in my house is virtually non existent and I'd been looking for an excuse to go back to Verizon.

I'm a tech geek and I love the Droid. Look, functionality, whatever. I don't want any shiny silver/plasticy phone.
