Final Froyo Release for Sapphire by CCRoms V2.02 Next Up Gingerbread

Well, I'll obviously be running CyanogenMod soon, probably when the first gingerbread RC drops.

It was a pleasure "doing business" with you cvpcs, you're a great developer and a stand-up guy - your solo work will be sorely missed, but you'll obviously bring a lot to the table by joining the CM team. Congratulations and best of luck.
I have to agree! I have been running GEM since I rooted my phone. I will miss it. I have to say that I think CM will be getting a great developer in you CVPCS! Good luck in the move, and once you have a nice stable running release I might have to switch over to see what all magic you have done. It has been a pleasure letting you code my phone

For those wondering, i'm sorry if the drop of GEM and move to CM seems sudden, but I will be posting an explanation in the coming day(s). It essentially boils down to me not having enough time to maintain all of the devices by myself, and being part of a team will help me relieve some pressure off of myself and keep me interested in developing for android.

I'm sorry for those of you that have come to love GEM, but the source will remain available for those who wish to fork it and keep it going.

That is a bummer to see the end of the GEM series but thanks for all the good times. I like CM thanks to the absurd number of features but it just doesn't seem as stable as Sapphire; I feel like the memory slowly gets used up and I have to reboot every couple days to keep things running smoothly. Hopefully you will bring the stability you are known for to CM for Droid and create the ultimate rom. Now if only someone could find a way to double the Droid's ram I could just keep my OG Droid forever.

Honestly, if I wasn't chomping at the bit to get Gingerbread on my phone I would probably keep GEM on my phone forever. However, I AM chomping at the bit for Gingerbread. Which is why I love ROMs.

Wow...this news is a huge shock. I've never really been a fan of CM it's always seemd a bit form over function IMHO...we'll see how it runs once cvpcs gets his hands on the code. If he can bring the stability and the performance we see in the GEM series then CM will be a force..I just hope thats the way the influence goes and not the other way where we just see feature loaded releases for the sake of being feature loaded..I always loved these roms because they were so stripped down and didn't have a ton of bells and whistles but they ran like silk.

Good luck cvpcs..it's been fun...

This sucks to hear that CCROMS will be no more. I completely understand the reasoning behind the move to CM. I really appreciate all of the work that CVPCS and the rest of the team has put into these ROMs. Truly great work, your skills will be missed.

just switched from 2.0.0 to 2.0.2 and it wouldnt let me "click the droid". So i had to to the four corner touch bypass. Now how do I retry to login to my google account?

Go into Settings>Accounts&Sync and Add Account

Its not a option, just corporate and facebook are listed. Just tried reflashing gapps, didn't work.

You forgot to install GApps at some point and it caused a possible data error.
Reflash your backup, install base, gapps, kernel.

So how much do we have to bribe(donate) for you to make the next stable release for the Droid 1?

I'm not a CM fan because I just want a stable system that's similar to stock.
Not a 100 features that don't always work and is mostly unstable.

Just installed CM 6.1.2 Way too laggy for me. I'm going to stick with Sapphire 2.0.2 until CVPCS has made his mark on CM. [ Or until I upgrade to the Droid Bionic  ]

cvpcs, thanks for everything you have done and what I expect you'll do for CM.

I've been a long-time fan of Sapphire. Haven't looked at CM in a long time but now that you're there, I may give it a roll again on the next release. I wish you good luck and much success.

Thank you for all the work, I started rooting about a year ago and bounced around different roms. Eventually I kept going back to yours since they worked best for me. I'll hate to see you go, but whatever your reasons are I wish you luck at CM. My only hope is that your work finds itself well at new home and you are able to bring CM the ideas that made Sapphire so great.

Oh, of course - I'll also be running 2.0.2 until CM7 becomes stable and working enough to use.

I doubt you'll be running any custom ROMs on the Bionic, or at least it will be as limited a situation as the X/2, despite rumors to the contrary. But one can always hope.
