First time I've thought this!

One thing I've come to realize is that all these new phones are gonna have such hype behind them because of the size of the android community now, that its extremely tough for them to live up to the hype. The majority of people seem to only post the one thing that might be wrong with their device, whereas the majority of people that don't have problems never say a word and just enjoy their new phone. The Bionic for example was perfectly set up to fail. Not saying it is a failure, but the hype was so big and long that when it was finally released, there's no way it could live up to that! I'm getting the prime (or whatever its called) regardless of hype or not, because it will be an amzing phone. And yes something better will come out a month later but that's life I guess.

Yeah. That's normal. People are naturally more vocal about things they're displeased with than things they're happy with.

Yeah, I created a swap partition several months ago and it worked great. Now, it's horrible. I wonder if the swap partition isn't getting formatted every time I enable and disable swapper 2 or it's possible my SD card is wearing out :icon_eek:

I never created a swap partition. It's not necessary now, either, with some of the latest roms. Compcache used to be notorious for slowing everything down after a few days, but not it seems to be working pretty good.

Vanilla or custom rom, it seems like GB 2.4.5 or whatever the number is finally fixed a lot of issues with GB, which until this point didn't really seem to add any value over Froyo while not running as good.

Lol! When I have mine set to the default I get more freezes then when its set to 26%. I've never actually disabled it though!

Doesn't work on mine at 26%. Playing around with default and 10% (also going to see how things are with no compcache).

Agree VM set to 40 usually is what I roll with. Might play around with 48, but heard that can cause issues with your home theme splitting. Don't know if making my launcher a system app will make any difference.

One issue I'm having with SS5.5 is TB is freezing up a lot. I've tried several different things, including reinstall ans system app vs. user app on SD. It's not a big issue but really strange given everything else seems to be running really well.

I was having major issues on my old D1, lagging, freezing, etc... Not sure what I did to piss her off, but she definitely wasn't playing nice. My suggestion: SBF back to stock and start the whole process from scratch. I know it's a little extra work, but my OG Droid has never run gingerbread better. Currently on SS 5.5, been running Chevy's rom since 4.7 or before, I can't remember. I ran the V6 supercharger script on my last install of SS, but this time around just sticking with compcache and chevy's task killer. I'm also using the included 1Ghz kernel. With that said, I know this may only give me a few more months of solid performance. So like the rest of the D1 users, I'm definitely ready for an upgrade, haha. Just trying to hold out for something I feel is really worth it.
