Came from a Voyager. I was a phone that tried to do everything but cound do nothing really well. It was good for my two years. Music, movies, internet, it was like going from Windows 95 to Windows 7. I didn't know what I was missing.

My last phone was a Motorola w755. Nice phone, but I hated texting on it. My friends would text me all the time, and I'd have to use the number pad to text them back. It was incredibly tedious. I figured when my contract was up for renewal I should get on board and get something a bit more advanced. I got the Droid and haven't looked back. I love everything about it. I'm a smartphone customer for life.

It was a chocolate, and it really was a dumb phone! When I stand over the sink trying to do dishes talking on the phone it once slipped off my shoulder and fell into a pot of water.... Dead....
No my Droid wouldnt do that being a smart phone it would know to fall on the outside of the pot with the app "Detect'N'AvoidWater" and if the droid did get wet I just use the app "SpinDry" which automatically detects moisture on the phone and starts spinning in circles throwing all the water off till it's dry :icon_ devil:

My last dumb phone is actually one I currently use for work. Its a Nextel i580 which is mainly used for the walkie-talkie function and half the time is can't do that right. Its also the phone they use on NCIS and it can't call Ziva or Abby. Talk about dumb!

Hmmm.. my last 'dumb' phone.... I think it must have been a Nokia 5160.

It was dumb as a bag of hammers, but it really was a pretty great phone. The place that it REALLY pales in comparison to the DROID is that I never had the thrill of waiting for updates! :icon_eek:

After that was the Moto V550 which I guess was a sort of smart phone so that really doesn't count.

Well there was two. I had the LG Chocolate 1 for 1.5 years and it was horrible. I went through 4 of them in the 1.5 years and it always had poor reception and the quality of music out of it was HORRIBLE. The I went to the EnV 2 for the next 2 yrs and basically...all it did was call and text. I rarely even used it because it was useless lol. My Droid now though never leaves my hand throughout the day. I am constantly on it trying to get the newest hacks and updates and listening to music and driving to NYC with its awesome navigation! I love this thing!

Had the LG Dare for 2 weeks. The phone died on me three times overnight, each time it was supposedly charging while I went to sleep. I ended up missing a final exam because the phone shut off and missed my flight home because the phone shut off. I should have gotten rid of that POS after the first time it happened. O well,...

LG DARE....

...to be a crappy smartphone imposter.

"Oooh the browser" they told me.

Yea because the only reason I surf the web is because I'm addicted to endless/mindless scrolling. My daughters Leapfrog had a better browser than this in both interface and experience.

"Customizable Homescreen..." they said.

Yea if you like to drag and drop CRAP all over the place because that's all it offered as far as applications, for lack of a better word. 11 crappy shortcuts to a LIMITED 51 crappy apps, all about as useful as a windshield wiper on a goats arse.

If you happened to get excited by the 3.5 mm headphone jack like I did you were immediately put in your place by THE WORST music player in the history of music players. I actually carried around a Teddy Ruxpin to use as an alternate.

Oooooh yea, this phone was DUMB...

Thank you Android, Thank you Moto, and most of all thank you Devs.

Peace.

had Casio boulder (version 2).

only good thing it did was the fact it was waterproof. i literally took it underwater in a pool while talking on it, got submerged in countless numbers of "drinks" and it still worked.

earpiece was terrible, the only thing i used it for was texting. thank god i have a work phone.

Mine was a sidekick. Let me tell you, it might not be marketed as a dumbphone, but it sure as heck is! I trashed that a week after it trashed my contacts =(

The LG Vx8000 was huge. It was really thick and a brick. I was called Zack Morris because the thing was so huge and clunky. It also had the extending antennae to top it off! Camera was actually good at the time it came out but doesnt compare to anything now and gets all grainy and is terrible while indoors or other low light condition. The thing had a "Night Mode" haha give me a break if u took a picture in that it was blue! The rest of the phone had no customization or anything there of. And the music player was ridiculous and you could not even use it connecting it with a USB cable. You also could not close the phone during a call while it was on speaker or else it would hang up. That was annoying.

I used to have an EnV...and I went through about 8 of them with Verizon. I think about 4 of them the charger port broke, 2 unassociated themselves from Verizon and deleted everything on the phone, and 2 just stopped working for no reason, after that my contract still wasn't up. I had to borrow my friends LG Chocolate for a couple of months and that was torture not having a real keyboard haha. After that phone gave me a white screen and stopped working my other friend let me borrow his V haha, so I used a brick for the last 2 months of my contract. After that the Droid came out the same month as my contract was up and I had my first smart phone. Now the Droid is the best phone I've ever owned and I wouldn't switch it for anything right now. I've also got 3 of my friends that had iphones to change over so far. =)

LG VX8000 - the external display was a nice feature. Wasn't a bad phone at all, just a little dumb.
