Not sure. I kept checking in when it was called grand central waiting for them to open it up as google voice. Requested an invite immediately. Got nothing. Tried requesting again about a month ago. Still nothing.

With the google voice VVM, can I still use my regular calling? Or do I have to forward calls through Google and pay extra?

No u can decide wether u want to use ur number or ur google voice number...at no charge
