From Liberty 2.0.1, Stock, Apex, CM7, etc. (ANY ROM) to Liberty GB

Kasey,

I found this in my Liberty Pro toolbox and it looks to me this will take you from Froyo to GB596 unless i'm mistaken. I could be totally wrong but that's the way i'm reading it.View attachment 34858

Thanks for showing us this. If you're willing to give it a shot, please let us know how it goes. If you're worried it won't get you to LGB like you want, you can do only Step #1 in the OP. If it doesn't work you can then commence with Steps #2 onward.

Kasey,

No worries here I'm prepared for the SBF , just not ready for GB yet. I would love to know if it's a one step process for GB myself, I could send it to someone, with permission from team liberty of course.

And I spent hours trying to get from SBF froyo to 596....
Anyone confirm this works? Is this the same file as TBHs allinone zip for rooted 596?

The only method I've ever used is the one I detailed. I don't know if the one in the Toolbox works or not. Thanks for trying it out for us though. It's always good to have the shared experience. :)

It works. Was on GB from Froyo in twenty minutes using the Toolbox install. That's what I wanted. That's what I finally got. Works! Just follow simple instructions.

So i tried this method with installing Liberty 0.8 and followed the directly EXACTLY, now im stuck at a screen with liberty's yellow fist icon. Guessing that's supposed to be the M logo, but anyways i tried the directions in the actual liberty 0.8 thread before and the same thing happened. Any ideas on why it is not booting up? Only thing I didn't do on the instructions is have a 100% charged battery, but does it really matter?

I had the exact same issue with v.08 and v.09 when I tried to install either one from the toolbox (this was when the roms were available in the toolbox, and I was on the .596 build). The only way out of it was to sbf. Which I had to do twice... the Toolbox .596 works, but only if you are starting from a rooted Froyo. I did it, it worked. From there I tried to download Liberty .08 from the zip I still had on my sdcard (since it was no longer in the toolbox), and AGAIN i ended up with the Yellow Fist of Death, lol. Had to sbf again and start back at Froyo. I just rooted and am now going to use the Toolbox to get back to Gingerbread, since I know that it works.

However, I think I'm going to refrain from flashing anymore Liberty ROMS of any kind until these kinks are worked out. Kinda tired of my phone freezing up...

Did you do a data wipe? I know it sounds stupid but if you didn't do it, thats what would happen.

Try using the 2-part rooted gb in the instructions. I've never had that method fail.

Same here. I've actually have had my phone running stock Froyo for the past day because cyanogenmod7 and liberty are not working for me. I got cyanogenmod7 working but every time i try to go to clockwork i get in a bootloop and have to SBF so if i can't get into clockwork to apply themes or even make a backup then its not worth it. I really wish something would work though, I'm tired of looking at my same old phone.

I did do the 2-part rooted from TBH. I followed directions exactly, i'd even record a video of me doing this process lol, i really wish it would work.
