Also, I noticed the camera now has an ON SCREEN button to press. I HATED pressing the camera button!!!!! I'm so glad they got this.

I have also noticed that there is no change in volume at all. I thought it was supposed to be louder, but it does not seem any different to me at all.

Mine seems louder. I actually turned it down a couple notches because it was too loud. Also, I am so :heart:STOKED:heart: about the software shutter button. I love my DroidX, but I hated the physical button. I would at times get a blurry photo because you had to press it too hard.

I hate multiposting, wish there was an edit button for posts, but the camera itself seems MUCH better. faster shutter, faster auto focus. I am so happy I decided to update.

i lost root even tho i was rooted before. however i still have superuser on my phone...any ideas?

Is there a way I can go back to stock theme without having to use Koush recovery? I never installed it and I would like to not have to so I can update to the 2.2 leak without going through the logwrapper issue

Also im using the first version of the blackglass Droid X theme

this was weird for my but worked. i decided to do sbf cuz i had bootstrap. it completed but all it did was take my root away...i had same background all my apps, everything, just no root. i rooted my phone and installed froyo for root. booted up fine and have 2.2 now but no root. any ideas?

I had the same thing happen but before I installed 2.2 even though I saw superuser, etc. I checked to see if I actually had root and did not. So I rooted first. I would do the sbf again which will take you back to 2.1 and then root then reinstall...

Few things I have noticed:

- Comments on the Market pages are not showing up. (Not that it is major.)
- LOVE the new gallery interface!
- Phone is much snappier. A LOT less lag than before.
- There is a new icon in the 'power bar' widget (wifi, usb, etc.) It is on the screen. You get the three standard brightness levels, but there is one that turns the LIGHT icon into one with an 'A' in the middle. Any idea what this is?
- New battery meter is nice. Nothing major, but like the display and batter life picture.
- Browser seems more responsive
- Flash is already built in. I went looking for it, only to realize it was already there. (Works great.)

I do have one question:

Tethering: Is WiFi tethering still for rooted users only? And if not, where do I find it? I assume it is for rooted only.

The A in the brightness is to do auto-adjust.

Wifi tethering is only available if rooted otherwise you'll have to pay verizon for 3g mobile tether.

No you don't have to remove them. This is only if you themed your phone such as nextheme or 928....

if i wanna go back to 2.1 so i can re root? how do i do so? i did the sbf but t just put me in a bootloop. did it again and bootloop. so i went to recovery and installed 2.2 that way again and now im back on 2.2 unrooted? how do i root from here?

When you flash back with the .sbf you have to also do a factory restore otherwise you'll bootloop. The only way i know to root it now is to flash back to 2.1, do a factory restore so your phone will boot, and then root from there. I re-rooted with easy root, then moved su from system/bin to system/xbin with root explorer, then applied the 2.2 update. worked fine.

I imagine it is safe to assume that when the official OTA update comes out we will still be able to update if there are any enhancements or changes from this update?

what do i do now..... i saved the file in the root of my sd card, installed the update but when the phone rebooted it got stuck at the moto symble!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it me or does it feel like we don't have JIT on this leak? I heard the EVO's original leak didn't have JIT but the official got it.
