Galaxy Note 2 waiting Lounge

If you have the Verizon version, it's not there. That's what we've been talking about - the fact that Verizon version of the Note 2 does not have blocking mode for some odd reason. :(

Vzw wants to be able to call you anytime they wish for payment, sales or surveys, anytime they want. Lol

Also, does anybody know if employer discounts can be applied to phones bought out right?

Okay I'm moving all my questions to the GN2 Page (if there is one? ) because I have tons of them as I learn how to use this monster. :)

Not on the price of the phone itself (at least with my employer discount).

They probably plan to steal the idea and turn it into something they can charge a fee for. That is their modus operandi.

Finally was able to pick up my Note 2 today. I currently work security for Coach and Louis Vitton (though I interviewed for a much better job today and nailed it.) I used to work security for a Verizon store and while I was working security there I got to know the sales staff very well. Finally had time today to go down to that store and the sales guy hooked me up big time. I needed to add a line for my wife so he set me up with the contract price for the GN2 on the new line and then swapped it over to my existing line and put my current phone on the new line. Now my wife finally has a phone and I have the phone I want and I got to keep my unlimited data without paying full retail for the phone. Another cool thing is I even get 4g at my house, was not sure I would have 4g coverage here.

The one big thing that sucks right now is I am currently copying the contents of my old SD card to the new one. Wanted to wait till I got the phone to format the new 64gb card and then copy the stuff over. Probably could have gotten away with formatting the card on my old phone but thought it might be better to format the card with the phone it will be used on. So now I have to sit here and wait for everything to copy across. After that I will finally be able to mount the card and then start downloading all my apps. Then I have to factory reset the old phone, setup a play store account for my wife and most likely spend the entire weekend showing her how to use her new phone. It will be worth it though.

Like a lot of you I am not very happy with what Verizon has done to the phone. The constant WIFI notification and disabling the block feature and the home button branding to name a few. I was initially pissed that Verizon would brand a home button like that but after thinking about it I kinda liked it because it is a very easy place to cover up without the cover up looking strange. Feels like I can probably just scrape it off. If not an appropriate color of nail polish should do the trick. I will probably also end up rooting the phone once I have thoroughly educated myself on the process.

For now though I am happy to count myself among the ranks of the proud new owners of this amazing phone.

I checked on this already. My employer discount used to offer $50 off of whatever price (subsidized or unsubsidized) you were to pay, but unfortunately it appears they no longer get a discount. The good thing is my employer will reimburse me up to $150 towards the price of a handset every two years.

First day of full use, overall battery life is great. im not sure why wakelock is using so much power.

On wakelock - are you using the stock SMS app? On my device, when I received a text it would turn the screen on for a few seconds and I couldn't find a way to turn off that notification - not sure if that could be it or not...

That certainly would explain it since I have done a great deal of texting today with this giant keyboard:D

Yes for now I am so I'm sure once I'm done setting up I'll have the same problem. Sure it is going to take me weeks until I have things right again :) but loving it so far.
