General review, complaints, and info

I have 2 updates available and have to admit as much as I like this phone I am holding out for the D3....I don't care about LTE as my 50mb down on WiFi is so much faster than any 4g out there.

No more Motorola for me. Not for a while anyway. HTC takes care of the little things as well as make a great phone.

I never thought about it. Do they have a few or none at all? I'll still download Ledmeknow and hope something happens haha

Really? Maybe I won't try it haha. I downloaded it once and thankfully that didn't happen. I'm not even sure what it's really for exactly since most apps have settings for LED.

Maybe you will have different luck....but I do not like having to replace my $500 phone for trying an app. That was the first and only app to ever do that to my phone and any phone from what I understand.

My girl is doing the same thing waiting for a better phone she what's the bionic coming out on June or July

I have a couple of concerns with the TB. Maybe they are addressed in the manual which I haven't read, lol...

1. vibrate on the TB is pretty low. Is there a way to adjust the vibrate on the phone?
2. led placement - you have to look down into the earpiece to see the led. Or you have to sit it at certain angle to see it. I like on the OD, the led sat flat with the phone. Its like the front facing camera on the TB. I saw a post earlier saying the led is not multi color? That kinda sucks cause with the OD, we could change the color for each app.
3. Reboot - The phone has rebooted twice now. I'm not rooted yet, so its still stock.

Other than that I think it a great phone. Its pretty quick and when I'm on Wifi then the battery life is pretty decent.

Still on the fence to keep it or return the phone. I've already bought a case, screen protector, and the car docking station...

I don't have any issues with the vibrate. I don't like the LED placement either. The DX was so easy to see, this LED is blocked by the screen and you can't see it from a distance.

Battery is still my major concern but I have charging options around me.

Problems with syncing to Google

I bought my phone two days ago and ever since activation, I've been unable to sync up with my Google account. I left the store thinking it was only a temporary network problem, which it may be, because the LTE network is still pretty new.

Every time I try, I get a message saying "Cannot establish a reliable data connection to the server." As a result, my old contacts and such cannot be transferred and new ones cannot be backed up properly.

I've searched the issue, and I haven't found anything pointing to anyone with a Thunderbolt sharing my problem. A lot of people with the HTC Desire had similar issues, however theirs were resolved through factory resetting or other means.

I went back to the store yesterday, spent about two hours sitting around while they swapped out my sim card, went through the activation process again, reset my phone several times, and called tech-support twice but there was really no definitive answer for my blight.

They eventually came to the conclusion that the issue lies with Google. I was told that the LTE network isn't communicating properly with Google servers. That being the case, I thought that trying to sync my Google account through WiFi or using the internet pass-through feature would work around it., but that didn't work.

The only thing that strikes me as odd is that, so far, I seem to be the only one dealing with this issue on the Thunderbolt. I wanted to know if any of you are dealing w/ the same stuff and/or know if what I was told is true? I would think, if what they said is true, that it would effect everybody with the Thunderbolt. Any thoughts?

Apologies for the length of this post. Thanks in advance

I prefer the vibrate on the TB over the D1. With the D1 the whole phone shook when it vibrated, causing it to fall off whatever you put it on if there was a slight downward slope. It also made a lot more noise, the TB is perfect because when I have it on my desk at work only I can tell when it vibrates.

I agree with the vibrate when it is sitting on my desk. I'm on a client site today, and the vibrate is perfect. Its not too loud nor does it jump everywhere.

I guess what I am looking for are different settings for the vibrate. Lets say, a work setting and a going out setting.

I took out my TB this weekend and in a loud place with my phone in my pocket. I could barley feel anything if I did feel it vibrate.
