Getting Razr Maxx wet??

I had a Casio Commando before the Maxx & loved the fact that it could get wet without any worry about it breaking. I play on a boat or surf board a lot & my phones always get wet. The Casios were nice that I didn't ever have to worry about that being a problem.
Before buying the Maxx I found numerous Youtube videos where they were being water tested successfully. Just wondering how many guys in this crowd have done the same thing.... whether it be on purpose or by accident.

Don't think for a minute that if you get the phone wet, that you won't have a problem.

I can't count how many people have joined up just because they got their razr/maxx wet.

Once wet, they're hard to recover because of the non removable battery.

That's my opinion though.

Good luck :)

The MAXX is water resistant, not water proof like the Commando is to an extent. There's a big difference. As 94lt1 said, testing out how water resistant the phone actually might be is a bad idea that's inviting problems.

My 13 yr old daughter was pushed into the pool two weeks ago, her razr maxx was in her back pocket! Needless to say the phone never came on again

I would NEVER try that on purpose, nor have I done it on accident.

However like others have said, most people that have come on here with water damage had paper weights after.

There is a company out there that says they can water proof your device... idk if i'd trust it or not...

Do they make them for a Razr Maxx? I have seen limited options for cases in general (compared to iPhone choices for instance). I have never come across a waterproof one.

I've not seen waterproof cases that are made specifically for the MAXX. I had a waterproof case for my iPhone 4S, and it worked flawlessly. It had a few layers (some of which could be removed to turn the case into an everyday case) and kept the phone completely sealed. But most waterproofing options for the majority of phones consist of various types of what are essentially small bags that seal in the device. There are plenty of those around that will work with the MAXX, but I have yet to see a legit waterproof case.

Thanks guys,
I work for a company who has recently bought a few of these phones. A couple of them have already been wet, one very wet having fallen into a car wash bucket. Both are still running for now. I will tell people it's not a good idea to get them wet though.

Oh, and Zedge is alright for newbies. You can upload an mp3 and clip out 30 second (or shorter) portions for ringtones and sounds all over the web. Relatively user friendly.

+1.. when I head to the beach, I wrap my device in a plastic bag... gotta practice safe smart phoning :)
