Gingerbread 6-1-2011

Okay, NOW I'm really ticked. Before I "upgraded" to Gingerbread, I had a lot of fun messing with the AT&T crowd because I could be on the phone and surf the web at the same time. Now that I'm on GB I can't. As soon as a call is initiated the data connection drops. Am I missing something or do I need to find a way back to FroYo?

You must be on wifi to talk and surf at the same time on a CDMA 3G phone. 4G/LTE will let you do both.

Any easy way for root access yet for using gingerbread. I had updated it yesterday only. If not is there an easy way to go back to the previous version?

hey guys i need your help...heres my dilema...everytime i go to check for updates it says that there are no updates available at this time...I have been running Froyo with z4 root...I opened z4root and unrooted my phone and deleted all my rooted aps and z4root...rebooted my phone/took out battery and tried to check for the update again and still no updates available at this time...

what do you guys think the issue is, I am trying to get gingerbread on my droid x? I am a little unsure on how to sbf using a mac book pro? Do you think that may be the issue? Also if I sbf will i lose all my data? real noob question but if anybody knows what I should do that would be real useful thanks.

I wish I could help you, but im kinda busy now. Others and i have posted answers to this question in like 10 other threads. You'll have to look. You will be surprised by what you find by just searching the forums. That's how I learned. Google search, how to sbf on mac. Go to youtube and search dx sbf. Its super easy if you just spend a little time looking!

If you're on froyo, just dl the 2 part gb leak from tbh and boot into clockwork and wipe data, install part 1, then part 2 and then reboot. You'll then have rooted gb.

I know from my experience, I had a wrong kernel so the update would not work. If you don't have the right kernel or version on your droid you will not get the updates. I had to do a SBF to the full correct version before updating. I am all set now. Love gingerbread.

Maybe there aren't any updates available. Why are you purposely trying to get gingerbread? It sucks.
I wish they never had this update that I was forced to use.
BTW - what's sbf?

I only love gingerbread the cookie. This is the worse thing they came out with. Show me one good thing gb has that beats the other version.

Sbf is basically flashing your phone Back to factory out of the box there is an sbf for Froyo and gingerbread and don't need to be rooted to do it here is the link. You choose to do it make sure follow instructions to the T!
