Gingerbread 6-1-2011

I don't know what the letter stand for, referring to SBF, but when most people on the forum talk about it they are referring to re-loading or re-programming your phone using the SBF file from the vendor.

With gingerbread, I have had no issues. My battery lasts longer, all my apps are working. Yes there are a few things I wish I could change but that is just like every other ones I have used. No OS is perfect. If you don't like it, then put something else on it. There are several good ROMs out there that you could use. So stop complaining about the upgrade.

I know from my experience, I had a wrong kernel so the update would not work. If you don't have the right kernel or version on your droid you will not get the updates. I had to do a SBF to the full correct version before updating. I am all set now. Love gingerbread.

I only love gingerbread the cookie. This is the worse thing they came out with. Show me one good thing gb has that beats the other version.

I have to disagree with you. I have been using Gingerbread for two months now (leak 573 to be exact). this OS has made my phone fast, stable with no issues. My battery length has increased, my phone is rooted as well as tetherable if and when I would ever want to utilize tht function. I have not found an app from 'the market' that does not load and run successfully.

OK. I just got the update. What are the 3 vertical lines between the 3G and the Bluetooth symbols in the top bar? I also have some sort of Battery Callibrator. Will that work now?

What battery callibrator?
I still haven't heard anyone say anything good bout GB when I asked earlier. I guess it's a lame version.

I've had gb for 2 weeks. OS isn't any faster and it doesn't increase battery life. are you sure you just don't turn your phone off when you're not using it? That would make ur battery life longer, not gb.

It's called battery calibration. Charge the battery to 100. Run the app. Unplug and let it discharge to 0. Then charge to 100 again.
It will then be calibrated

What it does is delete the battery stats file in system/bin. The phone will generate a fresh one so don't worry. Its what allows the phone to represent the accurate battery level

3 verticle lines is the vibrate symbol.

My Gmail is not working after download! It will not push and when I try to refresh it wont do anything, after about 10 mins it finally got the 6 test emails! I also have the little Sync symbol in my notofication bar all the time wether I turn sync on or off! Did this download just take my perfectly working phone and Eff it up???

I got the OTA and installed it. Worked like a charm for about a week and a half, then I had keyboard issues. I would hit letters and the text box would drop out of sight. I would have to tap the text box to get the keyboard to reappear, only to have my cursor jump and letters not appear when I typed them. Then, the text box would most likely disappear again.... I grew tired of this never-ending cycle and SBF'd back to Froyo. No issues with Froyo.

What is wrong with 2.3.3? Anyone else have this issue?

I was having the same lovely issue on my droid x... I wanna say the last time it happened it fixed itself after awhile or a reboot fixed it... I can't remember.. but same thing happened to me on the leaked gingerbreads..
Before the last time it happened clearing the keyboard app data fixed it... just had to redo some settings changes.. dictionary was still there as its stored outside the keyboard data.

I installed hacker keyboard on my phone and installed better keyboard8 on my wifes phone. Both solved that issue.
