Gingerbread IS coming today

Just ran a 1715 in quadrant. FPS on the 3D seemed a little better, actually, quite a bit. Can't wait to get the new kernel, it'll be even better.

I have no idea what this means...but it sounds real nice...

Alright guys. Here are my thoughts.

1715 and 1875 in Quadrant
42.7 and 42.8 in Neocore

As far as screenshots, since there is no root yet, I'm going to redirect you to look here.
Droid X Gingerbread (2.3.3) - PreRelease Thread

A while back there were 10 or so shots that were leaked, and not all of them are real, or correct. Just look at the MDW link.

As far as speed, definitely a lot faster than stock blur. Very responsive, nice and speedy. Reminds me of Sense because of smoothness, but it's pretty cool. It has a blue theme. So everything in the old blur that was like red is now blue. Progress bars, scroll bars, keyboard, etc... Blue. Looks nice.

I can't wait to get a ROM on this. It'll be really good for the Droid X's development I think.

Alias is working on rooting via NOP slide. Basically takes off the security of Gingerbread to allow us to use a already working root method. P3 has tried basically everything that is known to this point and hasn't had any luck. I was going to start working on something to push via adb but didn't have a chance tonight. I just kind of picked a few root methods to try (just to make sure). But they didn't work.

I may try to work on pushing something via adb or something similar to what alias is working on tomorrow depending on how far alias gets. He's said he got it to execute, he just needs to clean it up. Probably 1-7 days until we get root, if this works.

Alias is the main man for this root progress, not sure if anyone else is working on it. I'm sure Drod, Fab, Kejar, P3, or someone is working on it, or will work on it some.

All in all, it is great. I'm going to SBF tonight and then restore my backup. Tomorrow when I try to root it I'll flash back and give it another go. I'm not a big blur person. But this was nice. Definitely coming back. Hopefully with root. :)

Don't know if I got the whole file or if it was interrupted. 3.94 mb sound right to you guys?

Edit: I've signed off for tonight, and I think alias has too, but if you go to:

freenode Web IRC (qwebirc)
server ##pbf

you can chat with us, probably some tomorrow. Progress is being made, just slowly. We'll keep you updated. :)

That is sooo cool! As fast as the stock Thunderbolt. Try Neocore for FPS.

I ran Neocore got 42.7 fps. Sorry it took so long, my network took a dump. Lol. Let me run another.

That's about what I get OC'd and running blurless Liberty. NICE!

But this is stock. :) Blew my OC'd score out of the water. Lol. But I'm back to ApeX now, I need all my stuff. Lol. I'll come back to GB when working on a root method tomorrow!

mine was about 266mb. Has anyone else had speakerphone problems/really low volume in-call volume?

Edit: A reboot fixed it! Absolutely loving it so far. Who knew motorola could even create something this polished?
