yes. you need to have root and the bootstrap app in order to access clockworkmod recovery which is where you flash the zip.

Downloading now. I'm a little afraid because the only thing I've ever used RSDLite for is to gain root on my D1.

I think it sucks that you lose root by doing this. But whatever. Like they said, should be rooted by the end of the week... so as long as I just download the stuff that doesn't need it, I'll be fine.

But this new Blur is sounding exciting. Bye Bye Launcher Pro?

Are you serious? If you don't know how to do this... then you shouldn't even be trying to flash in the first place. I'm sorry to sound rash, but maybe you should just wait for the OTA, or go browse the forums some more, first. There are instructions for all this stuff posted. You just have to surf a little.

I couldn't decide whether or not to flash this or wait for the Liberty update...well I went ahead and did it... I'm digging it so far. That being said I will probably go back to 2.2 when The new Liberty Drops. Once Liberty works on gingerbread I'll be in droid x heaven!

Loving it

Installed it. Hit a snag when I got stuck in a boot loop but got that fixed. This release runs SMOOTH. I am very impressed with this and I was using the great Liberty ROM, which I loved as well. Highly recommended if you're thinking about taking the plunge.

Well I talked myself into rooting and flashing this.
Install was a breeze. My phone seems a little sluggish tho even after the inital sync completed.

My quadrant scores are in the 1600's .. going to try a couple tweaks and another reboot and see if that helps at all.
